Melissa has a unique way of moving effortlessly through a challenging sequence that both strengthens and stretches the body, particularly the lower body. You'll enjoy her calm and relaxed focus, as well as her attention to alignment.
I absolutely love this set for everything that Melissa manages to pack into only a little bit more than 20 minutes!
It´s one of my favourite classes and I really appreciate that Melissa is not talking a lot or giving too many instructions. However this is definitely not a beginners set - moving from tree pose, to eagle pose and then dancers pose without rest or putting foot down in between must be at least intermediate I. Also the fact that Melissa is not giving so much instruction tells me that it should be labelled intermediate and not beginner.
This was a great class for me. The level is basic but with some interesting variations (the balance flow, for instance). I felt warmed up at the end, although I would have wished that it were a bit longer.
This one helped me realize I'm a bit further along than I thought! I have been doing daily yoga (between 30 minutes - 2 hours, sometimes divided into a few sessions) every day for nearly 2 months. I have seen drastic growth in myself, as this might have been challenging to me 2 months ago. Today it was a good work out and I really enjoyed it!
I attend regular yoga and pilates classes and thought I was intermediate- I'm wrong! But I am enjoying this class and Melissa's other sequences. A good choice if you are in the beginner to intermediate stage.
I have been doing yoga for over 2 years now but have been too busy and haven't been able to practice it in a couple of weeks. I decided to try a shorter class to get my body back into it before I move up into a 60+ minute yoga class. I enjoyed the class and do think its for beginners. However, I would put it more into the "power yoga" category. She is constantly breathing and moving in and out of poses. It wasn't as deep of a stretch, being able to breath into and going a little bit deeper every time I inhaled/exhaled, like I would have enjoyed. I would see about switching this into the power yoga category.
I had my hip replaced 2.5 weeks ago and this class is really helping me to get back in my yoga groove. I can't believe how much strength I lost. It's depressing, but this class is really helping me get back on target. I really appreciate it!
Well, really, this video is good for any time you need a short practice...but it is one of my mainstays for when I'm struggling with seasonal tendonitis...such a great resource! Melissa is one of my favorite instructors - her videos are just the right amount of relaxation and exercise. Keep 'em coming DYWM.com and Melissa!
I've been loving Melissa's practices up to now, but this one is NOT 'beginner' on in my opinion. It is very fast paced and has a lot of balancing moves that are extremely challenging for even an intermediate class. The setups are so fast, she doesn't talk you through how to achieve the balance in a pose or anything she just tells you to do it. Very frustrating, this was the first one I just stopped half way through and quit out of frustration. :( Not the way I wanted my day to begin!
I am working my way through the yoga for absolute beginner program and while a lot of it has been challenging, this is the first class I quit. The poses were too fast for me to do with any kind of correct form. I had to give up on the sun salutations. I will try this again, but I don't think it should be part of the beginners program. Pretty discouraging for a beginner.
I would go along with the rest of the comments. When Melissa told us to go into "the dog" I had no idea whether my ankle should stay connected with the floor or I should be on my toes. Please put it at the end of the beginner program - or remove it all together.
Thank you very much nonetheless, I am discovering Yoga thanks to your program!
Melissa is my favorite yogi so far. Great at what she does. All her videos are awesome! Been doing yoga on this sight every day for the past month. As a Marine and combat veteran I have tried a lot of things to help with my issues and this site has changed my life. I feel better than I have in the past few years since I came back from Iraq. I only wish Melissa had more intermediate videos, because her Beginner videos are the best. Thanks Melissa!
I was directed to this website when asking around about yoga videos, this was the first video I came across that was of the time frame I needed and I think I am definitely sold on this website now! Excited to try Melissa's shoulder video tomorrow.
I found this the perfect amount of challenging and relaxing. Just doing yoga for the first time again in a few years. I will definitely be doing this class again!
I've always had really strong legs but I loved the challenge that this video presented. The stretches felt great and I could really feel my muscles working!
I feel so great after completing this yoga class/video. I will return as well to improve these postures. It was nice for the instructor to remind us that everyone's body different so for some moves i couldn't do too well i didn't feel bad about myself. The instructions are so clearly stated it made it easier to do the moves and still relax. I am now ready for work feeling more energized.
I'm going to keep coming back to this and improve my balance in the tree, dancer, etc. poses. This was a good length of video and I really enjoyed it. Thanks!
First of all, can I just say that Melissa is amazing? She has the perfect voice for yoga instruction! I did an intense Bikram yoga workout yesterday and I was feeling it in several places- especially my hamstrings. This class was perfect. Wouldn't mind a longer version of it, though! :-)
I really appreciate having a variety of class lengths - this is perfect to wake up in the morning or when I only have a minute to spare. It's also great to combine with some of the other short classes. Thanks!
..and a little too short. Solved it by doing first the Beginners Yoga for shoulder strength, then this one. Perfect! Will do again indeed! Great teacher!
Thank you so much for this video. I have only tried a few so far but you are my first to go into favorites. I loved the bridge and the legs especially the transition from left leg to right it flowed so nicely. My daughter did this with me and loved the leg portion to.

A great short class. Beautifully smooth but also a good workout in 21 minutes!
Great leg workout. It loosened up my very stiff lower back too.
What a wonderful class! Melissa's cue-ing is beautiful, friendly and warm instruction without being distracting. Will come back to this often!

Short but thorough practice. Nice for a basic practice.
This was a great class for me. The level is basic but with some interesting variations (the balance flow, for instance). I felt warmed up at the end, although I would have wished that it were a bit longer.
Loved this class. Tried new poses and practiced balance. I will bookmark this one for sure.
This was a great workout for me. I have limited leg strength and this is a good beginning. Namaste
I do enjoy her tone of voice, it's soothing and invites me to be more mindful of my movements and not critical of my body's ability <3

Love lovE LOve! I love Melissa's voice and excellent guidance. Thank you
Great workout! Challenging but uncomplicated, so a beginner can participate and grow with these poses.
I enjoyed doing this early in the morning. It helped with my chronic leg stiffness.

Samesies!

Oh my goodness. This one is more difficult than it looks (that's a good thing)! I'll be returning to this one time and again.
I always turn to this video when I need a short but satisfying strength workout. Thanks, Melissa!

Lovely workout, I'm just working my way though the program and this was a great work out, have bookmarked now
I'll keep coming back to this one. Great for improving your balance. Working on the poses is what it's all about.

We appreciate the feedback and we'll have a look into the program to see if we can replace that class with something more suitable.

That's nice Melissa!
Thank you for sharing your class. It has been very useful for my legs but also great for a complete relax and stretching.
Again very relaxing.

Great class, I would have liked more time in some of the poses though, so I had to use pause and play to get what I wanted out of it.
felt great. thanks!

I am brand new to yoga. I just started this week! I have done a Doyogawithme.com video everyday. I love it and this is one of my favorites.
First video for me to start me on my Yoga journey - the sounds of the beach were so soothing. Great!
I have been away from yoga for 3 months, this was a great, gentle way to get back in and stretch. I appreciate all the verbal modifications offered.

A perfect way to quickly get in a session before work on a chilly Sunday morning! Thanks!
My favourite so far. Great job Melissa.
Perfect for a quick yoga session at night or in the morning. Worked my legs but was also relaxing at the same time. Will be doing this one often.
..and a little too short. Solved it by doing first the Beginners Yoga for shoulder strength, then this one. Perfect! Will do again indeed! Great teacher!
Best study break I have ever had! Thank you so much!
I really love this practice ! It's simple and yet very effective.
And this tree pose tells me that my 10+ ballet years didn't go to waste :)
Thank you for the great work, doyogawithme and... More Melissa's please ! :)

I really enjoy this one. I am a newby so it's just right for me.
