Great class with some challenging poses which she gives inspiration to try
Thank you Fiji for this typical "Fiji Practice." And by that I mean clear ques, a calming demeanor and a sense of humor and playfulness. :) My favorite part was when the Blue Hearon was behind you, listening in!
Great beginning...a deep inspiration to soar the highest of ourselves, in our thoughts, breathing, movements and feeling, thank you Fiji! <3<3
Another great Pilates class!
Lovely class . Enjoying it.
Fantastic! The cues are great in this class and I feel both energized and stretched :)
FYI - this challenge is labeled Intermediate I but the first four classes are Intermed IIs, and the fitth is Intermed III. The first class in Soar Into 2024 was with FIji, and what made it challenging for me was the pace. I’ve probably done similar sequences a million times, but in 60 minutes rather than 45, and that makes all the difference! Day 2: Starts with a challenging vinyasa flow, including very long holds on chair poses and side planks. Day 3: 30 minute pilate session, not very challenging. Day 4: Free the Spine, which was a fairly challenging 30-min vinyasa followed by seated stretches. Day 5: Intermed III Wild Monkeys with Rachel Scott. I could do all but one pose. Great standing balance poses. This one is a keeper. Day 6 is Josh doing some fun balances for 20 minutes with just a bit of Intermediate II challenge. Day 7: Ride the Wave with Fiji. An Intermediate II undulating flow with great breath focus. A bit of balance, a bit of core strengthening. Perfect for an evening practice when you don’t want anything too strenuous. Day 8: An easy Intermediate II. I did a bit of full wheel. Day 9: Intermediate I. Short simple vinyasa with Tracey. Day 10: Form Function and Flow with Tara Heal: A fun and different flow to work on balance - some dance-like moves. A keeper for an Intermediate II regular class with enough but not too much challenge. Day 11: Intermiediate II with Racehl Scott. Some interesting binds - at the end, standing on one leg in a bind, something I may never do but trying counts. Day 12 - Interemediate I vinyasa flow with one-legged transitions that are doable. Day 13 - Tracey - a lovely 40 minutes vinyasa flow with tree and eagle. Day 14 - Fluid Focus with Fiji - a slow but moderately challenging Intermediate II vinyasa/balance practice to complete the challenge!
Great set of classes. It got me to do some classes I would not normally choose to do! Also got me on the mat everyday... that is the beauty of having it come to my inbox! Thanks
High five to everyone completing this challenge.many thanks to those who organized it and made it happen. Every class was a gift.
wonderful set of classes.
I will come back to it regularly
Thanks Rachel another fun class. Couldn’t believe I found my self smiling during that very difficult pose.
Beautiful flow, beautiful setting in the first class - love trying out different teachers too as I get familiar with a few and benefit from hearing different cues and different teaching styles.
However, as others have mentioned already, I agree that the pilates class is out of place. Also, the playfulness class with Josh--while having a fun and positive vibe--had a series of balances that were dangerous the way they were set up.
Appreciate this practice - thank-you.
Loving this series and the introduction to new teachers and practices! Being 66 years old means adapting some poses to my aging body.
I finished the challenge. Overall, it was ok. I gave 4 stars because of the pilates class and the almost one hour class. I like Rachel Scott and the one hour class, but did not like a class that long which seemed odd compared to the length of the other classes. I did not like Pilates class in the middle of the yoga challenge.
Ok, so I was not ready for this class, especially on a Friday after work, after 4 days of classes. It kicked my ass and I will tell you I got no where near approaching the splits or grabbing my toe or any of it. And I was ok with that, I rested when I needed to and worked on my side plank as I am coming off an injury that prevented me from side planking for quite some time. I didn't quit, I met the class where I was and just kept going. Thank you for an amazing class.
That was such a delicious class. Thank you!
Very challenging for me. But Rachel always makes it fun and I see slow progress.
I’m really enjoying this programme. It’s a long time since I’ve been this consistent with my practice and I’m really feeling the benefits.
Same with me!
Just completed! Thanks!
Updated, after completion: Overall, a solid and challenging series. I was surprised at how much I could comfortably "do" in these Intermediate level classes. I just loved the cueing and the reminders from all the instructors to stay present, fluid, and open to the possibilities!
Regarding the insertion of a Pilates class into a yoga challenge series: this is the 3rd challenge I've done, and I still truly dislike the placement of Pilates in it. I am trying to let go of my resistance to it, but "More Core on the Floor" is just not a good fit for what I am seeking in my yoga practice. The instruction isn't working well for me because I don't already know Kathi's Pilates terminology. Please consider doing a separate Pilates "thing," and not tossing it into the mix for us.
I agree. Did not like the pilates in the middle of yoga challenge
Thanks for posting this...I will skip over the Pilates class. Pilates has its place, but perhaps in its own challenge series?
Wonderful start to '24 - thank you!
An excellent start for the 1st of January. I may not have been able to do everything, but I did what I could and feel good. Thanks for getting this 66 year old moving in the new year!
Thanks Josh, for making me smile and laugh a bit at myself. I was pleased that I could actually do some of the challenges like the swaying tree!
I really enjoyed "meeting Tara" and the Form Function and Flow class. I will come back to this one!
Beautiful, creative, and really set me up for the new year. Thank you, Fiji!
The pacing, setting and inspiring message - together with Fiji’s familiar but fun poses and transitions, was a wonderful way to kick off my 2024. TY Fiji and DYWM🌈
Great way to start our 2024 challenge! I loved the pace of the flow. Had some challenging moments. Left me feeling energized and peaceful. Thanks Fiji!
Great as always!!!
