This challenging, beginner yoga class is a wonderfully-balanced hatha flow that stretches and strengthens the whole body, through standing poses, seated stretches, reclining postures and core work. Rachel helps you understand alignment and core activation, emphasizing the proper way to do the poses to obtain the most benefit and to feel rejuvenated and relaxed as you take on your day or prepare to wind down into your evening.

I've been practicing yoga for about 8 years now so I tend to go more for the intermediate/advanced classes. Only because all beginner classes I've tried here were too slow, easy and kind of boring to me. I think the teacher thinks of the student that is practicing yoga for the very first time, which is ok, it's just not for me anymore. On this beginner class Rachel did an excellent job of keeping the pace of the practice while using easy postures but making them challenging at the same time. I broke out in a sweat! This kind of class is great to build and strengthen our foundation. This is for the beginner and intermediate practitioners alike. I will be back again and again to this class for sure. Thank you Rachel and Thank you DYWM! I'm very grateful for this website.

I agree 100% with this. I'm also intermediate/advanced and I learned a lot from this. This practice, and Fiji's beginner vinyasa one will be practices that I return to to make sure I stay on track with my form.

This was a wonderful class. I'm just getting back into yoga after an injury and the pace was good, neither too fast nor too slow. I'm a bit weak for some of the poses, but I'll keep coming back to this one while I re-gain strength.

I'm going to have to revise what constitutes 5 stars. Rachel's directions are clear, the progression challenges calling on will power to hold longer and push deeper. This class will make you stronger and longer! Thank you.

A wonderful and challenging tune-up for me - I have been doing yoga regularly for 5 years and it's easy to get somewhat lazy in the basic poses. Rachel's instructions are crystal clear and her alignment cues make old poses feel new. I loved that she incorporated some strengthening pulse and holds. This is fluff-free instruction at its finest and I will return to it again to keep me on track. Thank you so much, Rachel!
