This beginner hatha yoga class is a nice way to wake up and start your day, if you only have half an hour to spare. Melissa goes at a nice pace, spending enough time in poses to create a good release, and emphasizing alignment and breath. You will love the way you feel after doing this class!

When I was attending University, I really wanted to try yoga for it's exercise, as well as, stress-relieving benefits. I was discouraged after attending a "beginner" yoga class there. The lady teaching the class raised her voice and sounded more like a drill instructor throwing out discouraging statements if a student's form was not correct or if they couldn't hold a pose long enough. Needless to say, it was not an enjoyable experience. I decided to give it a go again at home by myself in a less hostile enviornment. I came across one of your videos and it completely turned things around for me. Not only did I discover a love for yoga, but I was actually good at it as well. Better than I thought I could be. Thanks for your words of encouragement and non-judgmental style. You'll always be my favorite yogi.
Such a great way to wake up! These classes are such a gift during the shelter in place due to COVID - the balance of the mental and physical, strength and relaxation, all feel so important. Thank you!
Thank you for the excellent spoken instructions in this class. I use a small iPad with a speaker and depend on a teacher’s verbal guidance for my practices. Even though I preview a class, I still find the spoken instructions are important.
I appreciate the outdoor beach setting for this class. Because of Covid-19, I wasn’t able to find any outdoor yoga classes in my area this summer. Thank you for taking the time and effort to film outdoors.
Good class but will have to start watching without sound because you sometimes talk too much.

Great routine when you only have about 35 minutes. Love Melissa's detailed instruction on form while encouraging you to do what feels right for your body. Nice stretching, poses and gentle lunges are just my speed to warm up for the day. I also like the way she encourages us not to go too swayback when doing the hamstring forward bend stretch move.

Perfect! Just what I neededto get back after taking a dayoff from a tender lower back. I feel so much better and less stiff. Just enough but not too intense. Great directions. Namaste

I woke up feeling like a crumpled piece of paper - my shoulders misaligned, my back and hips feeling knotty and tight - and this class made me feel much better. My body had a lot more movement and flexibility halfway through the class. I can feel a big difference between my first and last few breaths. Thank you Melissa!

The pace and pose types are Ankylosing Spondylitis friendly and helpful for those of us with significantly restricted spinal mobility. The cues regarding paying attention to what you are feeling in your neck as you choose positions is a great help in making sure not to push too far.
This was my first yoga practice since having surgery almost six month ago. It was a perfect amount of challenge and a wonderful reintroduction to my practice. Feeling very grateful! :)

I've wanted to get my 19-year old son into yoga for awhile and this video was an excellent introduction for him. Excellent for me too, as I hadn't practiced or done much else in terms of flexibility, for some time. I really felt the stretches.
