Elevate Day 2
This class can be done as a stand-alone class or as day 2 in Fiji's 14-Day Yoga Challenge, Elevate. In this vinyasa flow class, Fiji helps you incorporate the concept of levity into your practice. You will help you learn to move with lightness and ease by facing new challenges with a sense of humor. Note: a block is not required for this class, but some students may wish to have one to support them during some of the balancing postures.

Wow this was awesome. At the beginning of this class I would not have thought I would be comfortable attempting my first headstand (especially risking falling forward into my desk... think I'll take Day 3 in the living room with more space), however, I felt so grounded and sturdy pushing up through my arms and upper back, and anchoring my head against my woven fingers as guided..... I found myself pushing up into my first headstand ever, and holding it for the entire 12 breaths that I consciously worked towards before letting myself down (although not nearly as slow and gracefully as Fiji lowers down in the video).

I found the root and rebound concept really good. I will try to use it in my own teaching.
I went for a run today so found the lifted heels a little challenging. I have particularly tight calves and no yoga sequence ever seems to stretch them out, unfortunately.
Still, loved Day 2 and see you tomorrow!
A class more about lightness/ buoyancy than humorful attempts at standing poses (I believe my wobbly stances caused me to misinterpret the title!), but lovely. Also very grounding. I could do the bind from bent triangle, but had trouble maintaining it. Are the any modifications for folks who don't do the bind but want to still continue to a standing pose?
