Hahah! This was great. Thank you so much.
I am laughing because as I lay in my 14th day savasana my 9 month old daughter was ever so gently trying to pull open my eyelids.

I have been doing yoga for about 5 years now and I have always been intimidated by arm stands/balances. I just could never set them up right it seemed. During this challenge something clicked for me and I realized that it was not my lack of arm strength but rather the length of my torso and the way I set up my arm stands. I have a very long torso(I cannot wear one piece anything). I found that I have the core strength to lift my legs and bottom but my arms are not long enough to have the room to lift. If I elevate up onto the base of my fingers at the top on my palm, though, I am able to lift. Is this normal/okay? I'm starting to realize that the awkward mess I have always had in some poses is due to my long torso and I have been making small changes that have really helped!
Anyways, thank you again. I love all of your classes.

Haha! I have kids crawling on me most days during my practice, the older the get the more poses they can climb on to! It sounds like you are discovering that all of us have different bodies and dimensions. This does mean that we will find some types of poses easier and others more difficult simply due to our skeletal structure! I often say in my classes, "if you have short arms like me, you are going to end up with very strong fingers!". Yes modifying in creative ways is what keeps your practice alive, custom to you, and always evolving.
