I could not keep my balance in the balancing poses. Any suggestions on classes for strengthening my balance? I’m doing this as part of the 30 day Transforming Your Life Challenge.

Hi Tina,

Balancing poses are challenging for us all and come easier during some practices than others! There are a few hints that can help, first is drishti or a solid gaze point on the floor ahead of you. The whole class felt like a warm wave rolling over my body. I didn't need to apply any force or pressure, but just marveled at all sensations while my muscles were contracting and stretching. Wonderful!

Nice, gentle full body stretch that works for intermediate. I usually like classes that are more strength building but nevertheless enjoyed a lovely hour of stretching and nourishing my body. I'll come back to this not just if tired but also if feeling that my muscles need stretching more than pushing, if that make sense.

Really well balanced class! Her instructions are short and precise. I did not feel rushed while holding poses. Appropriate breath work included with instruction . Getting back into my yoga after several unintended years off my mat. Practiced here and there and did remain aware of breath work. Excellent class!!!

As a newbie, I had to take a brief break at 36 minutes and hydrate, for feeling slightly dizzy, but this is a fantastic class! I also noticed that in "happy baby"(?) my spine of the lower back could not reach the ground. Is there any stretches for that? Thanks so much.

Welcome to the site, and so glad you enjoyed the class. It's great that you listened to your body and new when to rest and hydrate. Stop *anytime* you ever feel dizzy or faint, and child's pose is a wonderful place to be in this state. Happy Baby is actually a great release for the spine, so no worries on your lower back touching the ground - practicing this pose more will help. I have another class with a focus on the spine that you might enjoy, and will also help :)

This class felt great, especially in my upper back/shoulders, plenty of stretch without straining my injured joints. The class was long enough that we had time to really go deeper into the hamstrings and hips and that felt wonderful. Thanks for the class!

Perfect wind down after a busy day, clear instructions, nice pace not too slow or too rushed...loved the humour in "challenging your balance" during tree pose...that's what I'm like trying to stay balanced lol! Thank you for the perfect class Anastasia it is now bookmarked. :))))
