If you sometimes struggle with accepting your inner experience - such as who you are, how you feel, what you think about and what others think of you - then give this class a try. It's designed to gently shift your perspective, encouraging you to feel your body and experience your emotions in a nonjudgemental way and to awaken compassion. If you repeat it regularly, it will help you better understand yourself, and can teach you how to let go of feelings of anxiety, depression and emotional pain.

David, I feel like I'm having a massage as you talk me through feeling each part of my body. It's amazing that I can feel so much better with the help of your words and my effort (or relaxation, as the case may be).

My friend just got a book called "Trail Guide to the Body," and your body check-in reminds me a little of the "trail hikes" outlined in the book, which are very much geared toward learning the physiology of the body through actual touch: where each muscle is in relation to other muscles, bones, and tendons. Your body check-in is the more relaxed, feeling-based version of a body hike. :)
