Wake-up and clear your head with this short, but full, pranayama yoga class. It's the perfect combination of breathing exercises, including deep abdominal breathing, kapalabhati pranayama (the skull cleanser) and meditation. The diaphragmatic breathing helps calm your nerves before moving into the breathing techniques that wake you up. If you like this class, the next step is David's Pranayama Yoga To Move Energy.

Hi David,

When you tells us to add the pelvic floor lift it is only at the end of the breathing round, or should I do the round holding my pelvic floor lifted?

I feel a little ashamed for asking such a silly thing, but I want to do it right.
Thank you for your time and for the beautiful site! Just Adore it!! it's so difficult to find serious yaga practice on line!

Hi there.
You can try it, but you want to make sure that you're not trying to do too many things at one. If you feel that you have reached a point where the breath come easily to you, then try to add the pelvic floor while maintaining the effortless feel of the breath.
Thank you for the kind words. I'm happy that you adore it!

I should say first, I came here to help with an unusually stressful day. Most often I will watch some of the video before attempting. I almost didn't do this one because it didn't look like much was happening - boy was I wrong. After doing this short series of breaths, I came away with more clarity and a lightness to my mind. Thank you David. This one will be a regular for me. Very nicely explained too.

Hi

I love kappalabati breathing but I find as rounds increase, I run out of breath.

Is there an adjustment I need to make to prevent this happening?
Thanks
Amanda

Hi Amanda.
I don't believe so. I think the ability to sustain the breath simply comes with more practice.
Cheers,
David
