Elevate Day 1

Intermediate III

This class can be done as a stand-alone class or as day 1 in Fiji's 14-day yoga challenge, Elevate. In this class, Fiji guides you through a thorough, well-rounded vinyasa flow, paying particular attention to alignment and setting clear intentions. A great class for anyone looking to remind themselves about important yoga principles, and the perfect class to begin 14-days of dedicated practice!

This was truly awakening and make the dead parts of me , feel alive! I have developmental trauma and this 'connected' me together, it allowed choice and a sense of agency within, I felt stretched nicely and the bits I hold and clench so tightly , were permitted to release! This is the best elemental healing Ive received in a long time! Thank you Fiji.

Thank you Fiji! This was a great class. My foot is in rehabilitation mode now, after a 6 week period of immobility. I have very limited ROM in my big toe, so transitions are a little tough for me. But, evenso, I appreciate the ability to move and modify as I need to. I can always count on your classes to provide a sense of grounding and strength :)

Fiji! You're amazing! I had eaten a lot of dessert the past two days...possibly a female thang,...but this practice really got me back to myself. It reminded me that although I ate not so badly, my practice is still going in a forward direction. That means the world to me.

You are an excellent teacher. i love your challenges. I can't do everything but I know how to modify poses and you give very detailed instructions as well. Thank you for enriching my practice!

I have never before been able to stick with yoga, but Fiji - you have changed that completely for me! I have now done 1 or 2 classes every day for nearly 2 weeks, and I just began this challenge. I’m an aging competitive marathoner, and you challenge, stretch, and strengthen me with every class. Thank you!

Wow! What a wonderful class. I still consider myself as a beginner and unsure when to progress to intermediate so I gave this class a try and I feel so pleased and grateful. Fantastic instructions and a great pace for me. Unfortunately I couldn't manage some of the poses but I feel it's achievable with time and your wonderful guidance. Thank you so much, can't wait til tomorrows challenge day two! Namaste x

Just finished Day 2 but I figured I'd come back to yesterday's Day 1 and comment, great class. Even as an "intermediate" yogi with just over 1 year, 4-5 days a week in studio, this provided some challenge in realigning with the basic principles, checking in with your form and inner balance. It did leave me longing for more, and I was pleasantly surprised with myself in Day 2. Love this challenge! Thank you!

Day one of the yoga challenge/self isolation. My yoga teacher training has been cancelled, so I started the class in a bit of a sad space mentally, but the class has cheered me up. Not sure I'll ever be able to float my leg in eak hasta bhujasana, but I'll be sure to keep trying!

after two years practice sivananda yoga, back at DYWM! started with this sequence...loved it! I had a for almost 9 months difficult and apinfull injury on both elbows wich slowed down my proces, hope to get back with this.Thank u so much!

great class, but why oh why do my wrists always hurt so much during Fiji's classes? What am I doing wrong? OR what can I do right? If I have to spend too much time on my hands, it hurts!

Thanks so much Fiji for your excellent guidance throughout. You describe the poses so well I don't even have to look at the video most of the time. I have had cervical spine issues in the past and have to consciously remind myself about correct posture and keeping my shoulders back when standing, walking etc. I have tight shoulders also so do try to do chest openers with hands clasped behind back and down which always feels good. Looking forward to the rest of the Elevate series.

Thank you so much Fiji. I've been with DYWM for a number of years and am now moving confidently in Intermediate classes. This first day was cued perfectly for me.
I also really appreciate your reminders to take resistance with a new mindset, be patient with yourself and move little by little.

Oh wow, I decided to do this challenge as I'm just coming back to yoga after 3 months off with a broken collarbone (took a tumble while out running) and shoulder injury. I had no idea this class would focus on these exact areas, as very few classes even mention the collarbones. It was really good to be paying extra attention to this area as a few weeks ago I injured my shoulder while attempting a chaturanga before my body was ready after the injury. I have had shoulder/rotator cuff issues even before my collarbone break so it was really interesting to hear that this could be a side affect of doing a lot of chaturangas. I do vinyasa almost daily so maybe I should be careful with that area. I have to adapt this class a little (no arm balances for me yet!) but I really enjoyed being able to pretty much do a full class again. Thank you so much Fiji!
