This class is really for athletes of all kinds, but is particularly effective for cyclists. It's a full-length class that is best done at least a couple times a week if you want to see results. David targets the key muscles that are in high demand when riding your bike and also spends time releasing those that become tight because of the posture you need to maintain for so many hours on your bike. Note: You will need access to a wall.

Amazing teacher, one of the best out there
I've been doing a lot of weight training and needed to expaaaannnnd the muscles again. This was perfect. Thank you.
Well balanced and I loved the custom (live?) soundtrack.
Enjoyed the long purposeful strap stretches with clear instruction on keeping the hips aligned. My favorite moment was the lunge - David's instruction to send back heel back and bring front knee forward above the ankle made me feel the opposing forces of that posture in a way I have not realized before. appreciate all the attention to the pelvic bowl/core while doing leg stretches.
A tough class for me but I loved it, thank you very much David.
After a 20 mile ride, I didn't want to work hard again, I just wanted to stretch to avoid tomorrow's soreness. This was perfect; calm, slow, deep... aaaaah!
great class it really helped loosening my thighs and calves which are tight form hiking and cycling. Though I could'nt stand on my knees 40 min. in the video. that was too painful for the knee on the mat. So I quit and came back for the relaxing stretches at the end. My knees are old. I feel great overall. Any idea what other strecht I could do to spare my knees?
Thank you! Namaste
Hi Francine,
Yes! Have you tried adding a blanket or some cushioning under the knee that is on the ground? Another option is hooking the back toes under and bringing the knee off the ground turning the base into crecent lunge.
What a great class. I'm an avid cyclist and this hits the spot! During these winter months you could also call it "Yoga for Skate Skiers" :-) -- seems to hit a lot of the same tight muscle groups!
Loved this class - thank you! Did your Deep Release for Hips, Hamstrings and Lower Back last week and this one today - will be doing more of your classes for my poor runner's/cyclist's legs! Just what I needed.
Wow! I didn't expect this class to be so strenuous! Not aerobically strenuous, but strenuous in how much effort it took to hold the poses while my muscles yelled at me! Feel fantastic afterwards, though. My whole body is tingling! Thanks!
Great class - I felt perfectly led without even glancing at the screen, safe and well in body and mind
Hi - I've just done this a second time - it's really powerful, so thank you. I really struggle at the end (when shin is against the wall) to activate my glutes. It's like I can't even feel the muscle to engage it. Is there anything I can do about that?
this made me cry, but in a good way! thank you.
Thanks for this class, David! I love your teaching style.
I’m wondering if you have any class recommendations on this site that have a similar “intense stretch focus”, but works on the upper body? Would love to give that a go!
First time in a long while that I do this class. Discover that my quads are so tight. I feel straighter and taller.
Thank you, for great instructions and calm voice.
These classes are life changing. just discovering yoga at the age of 54 and for the first time i love it! David, your presence is beautiful. thank you.
What a great class, loved it, thank you!
David, when your feet are on the wall, it gives a marvellous quad stretch but could you tell me: is the entire bottom of the foot to be pressed against the wall? For me it’s just the ball of my foot on the wall.
A great leg stretch class David. Which as a runner and hiker, is great for me.
Good to hear, Mary!
It depends on the flexibility of your foot, ankle and leg. If you're tight, mostly just the toes will be on the wall. If you're flexible, you could have most of the foot on the wall.
I tend to hold my anxiety in my hips and legs, so this practice is my go to for flushing out my lower body. Some nice heart and side opening as well to help me stand tall. A lovely tonic for these times.
I'm not a cyclist anymore (sadly), but I still love this practice. I think it provides the best stretches/releases for the quadriceps of any video on this site. Best stretches for other parts of the leg and back as well. I also love to do this one before a flight, so I don't get cramped legs and back on the plane.
David , I love your clear, concise instruction. There's never any confusion with what goes where and you have such a calmness in your voice and delivery. This was another wonderful session, you never disappoint. Thank you.
So needed this. Thank you!! :)
Excellent stretch + release the day after a long ride. I love the background music too.
Great variation of my favourite stretch class with David (Deep release for the hips, hamstrings and lower back). Liked the stretch against the wall!
I am not a cyclist but need those stretches after hiking or skiing as well :-)
I’m not a cyclist, but I have really tight legs lately from my job,and walking. This was a great class, and I love the little cues for alignment.
David this was such a good class for stretching the hips and quads. I have some work to do on the quad stretch against the wall. Thank you.
Wonderful class! Stretches all of my tight cycling muscles. Thanks.
This was a great class very effective especially against the wall loved it!
Thanks again David for another amazing class !
Peace and love

I was on my feet all day and than went for a short ride, I was debating about just doing nothing but felt like I wanted to do a bit of grounding and unwinding. Than I saw this class and it was perfect. What a great way relieve my tired legs and ground me at the same time. Thank you
This was very intense. I felt a sensation I haven't experienced in almost 30 years and then I realized I was feeling some of the physical and emotional sensations I experienced during labor. I've never had such an emotional response to any of my yoga practice. As I am just beginning my yoga learning it was a surprise to me. Clearly there is a very spiritual connection at work here. Gives me hope that I can heal my body of my chronic pain condition. Love this website!
That was amazing! I stretched parts of my legs I've never stretched before! Definitely using this from now on.
I'd like to ask though: I came looking for a session that focused on helping with bike fit. The aggressive position requires a lot of flexibility and core strength. Could you suggest a video that focuses on hip flexibility, trapezius strength and core strength?
Great class... thanks!
Nice recovery class for athletes. Great for cyclist, runners that need release in the hips, quads and hamstrings.
One super rewarding hour. Thank you!
Another excellent video ..... Thank you David. My lower body feels so relaxed!
I do weight lifting and rock climbing, and this class was amazing. Some intense stretching in here, but that's what many of us desperately need. The poses are held long enough to really get into things. My only comment is I didn't know how close to the wall my torso was supposed to be at the end there... had to do a bit of guessing. Also, David spontaneously did some sort of clap refocus thing - seems like a cool tool for us too, I wish he'd explain what that was!
I found this session helpful too.
Regarding the clap at 40 min, I wonder if that was just a way for David to mark a spot where he intended to go back and edit the video later. Or it might just be a healthier version of the facepalm I find myself doing at my desk a half dozen times a day.
In general the closer to the wall, the deeper the quadricep stretch, so you can judge for yourself where you want to be. And thank you for pointing out the 'clap'! That is, in fact, a way of creating an audio spike so we know to remove a piece when we edit. We missed that in the editing room but have now removed it.
Take care,
David
that hour flew by. one of the best quad stretches I have had outside of going to physio..
A great alternative to David's "deep release for hips, hamstrings and back" class (which I do on a regular basis).
I am an avid road cyclist, riding on average over 150 miles per week. Naturally, I had to try this since it is called yoga for cyclists. I must say it is the deepest and most thorough stretching I have experienced of muscles that I wasn't really sure how to stretch. The class is slow paced, but don't let that fool you. It's a thorough workout for all of the muscles we as cyclists overuse on a daily basis. Great job!
