It takes such a skillful teacher to be able to understand the challenges a beginning student might face. This is such a fabulous class as it breaks each pose down into the crucial elements that allow the body to really sink into the pose and the flow of poses is so deeply inviting into the final rest! Thank you Rachel!!

Really Awesome Class

For someone who is still relatively new to yoga this class was awesome there were some great challenging poses, but nothing that seemed to difficult to understand.

Great feedback! Standing poses - especially twists - can be such a good challenge!

I really enjoyed this class, thank you. Perfect pace and instructions. So peaceful without music. I would class this as intermediate but I think in general, the site tends to class a lot of intermediate lessons as beginner ones. I always bear this in mind so it's not a problem.

Thanks for the feedback. This one seems to straddle the line between beginner and intermediate, making it difficult to categorize for everyone. If there is anyone else out there who feels this should be an intermediate class, let me know and I'll make the change.

beginner vs intermediate

I don't think beginner should necessarily mean easy :) ! While I agree this may not be suitable for complete beginners, for me, the difference between beginner and intermediate is not only in the difficulty of the poses - strength and flexibility required - but in the types of cue given. Here, Rachel focuses on basic alignment, which is fundamental at all levels, and has used blocks so that the class is more accessible to those of us with less flexibility. In a more advanced class, there may be cues on other aspects of yoga as well, e.g. bandhas. As an on/off yogi of 30yrs - OK, more off than on - I really wish I'd had this quality of teaching when I first started out.
