Spine All Ways

Intermediate I
Improve your spinal health and mobility by exploring your spine's full range of motion in multiple directions: side bending, twisting, backbending, and forward folding. Not only will this sequence help you develop more fluidity in your movement, it will also help to open the ribcage for more freedom and expansion in breathing, along with providing a welcome release for muscles of the back, shoulders and neck.

Your I joined DYWM over a year ago and considered myself INTERMEDIATE because I have been doing yoga for so many, many years. Took me couple of intermediate classes, one of them was this class, to realize that I know a lot but actually nothing about yoga. Back to Beginner all the way.
Today I understood and enjoyed this class. Absolutely beautiful and I am proud of myself. Thanks Rachel.

Crossing my legs at the shins instead of ankles was intense! I could hold that for only a few seconds.

I shoveled snow the last two days. This class wrung out everything that was stiff. Seriously good for hips, sides, lower back, upper back, shoulders, and chest. Nice, even slower pace to make sure you breathe openness into every inch.

What a lovely class for alignment reboot/introduction, options and a fantastic wriggling and wringing of the spine. Bookmarking this one! p.s. I must like whatever kind of tea is being served. Thank you.

It took me a while to get used to the ambience of this particular class, I am wearing glasses and cannot see with me right eye . Wearing glasses during a class is a pain!
I do agree, her classes in my 30 day challenges (like everybody elses) are wonderful. I know now I have to watch the classes completely before I start my practise. Then I just have to listen.
Lets have the cup of tea together. Namaste

Eureka! I’ve found it! I have finally found THE class that addresses the side and back body! I have had a chronic pain in my left back since about Spring Break and it just doesn’t want to go away. I feel that this is the class that, with consistency, will release that pain. And ever since I gave birth to my 2nd child (who is now 13!) I feel like my sides need to be stretched apart like an elastic! This class addresses that! I’m excited! I think I’ll try to do this several times a week to see what happens. The pacing is great. I’m an intermediate learner.

What a terrific class! Not being able to join classes at my local studio has been such a bummer, this really made me feel great about practicing at home. Thank you so much!

What an excellent, juicy, stretchy class! So perfect and just what I needed. Rachel is amazingly articulate and precise in her movements and cueing. I especially loved how she broke the mold in this one a bit to allow for a deeper stretch in the side body. Thank you, Rachel. Namaste.

I can see how this might be “Intermediate I” for someone who is already fit, and newish to yoga, but for me at someone who is learning yoga while trying to become fit, it was a little fast paced and I kept having to pause it to catch up, or get back to a neutral before going onto the next thing. I gave up about half way in.

Nice class. I really appreciate the detailed instruction for Revolved Triangle. I've been practicing for around 20 years and have been a RYT for almost 12 years and no one has ever taught me that pose. Now I feel more confident practicing it and teaching it to others.
Thank you,

This is an excellent all-round spine stretch. Rachel's pace is perfect here: not too fast-paced but not too slow or too "talky" either. Both I and my partner enjoyed this class very much.

I really enjoyed the stretching aspect of the class. I am fairly new to yoga and still learning how to pace myself within each class I try. This is my second try with this particular yoga class and I found the pace much more manageable. I think I am getting more into yoga / poses / stretching so that I can participate more fully.
