It depends on where you live. You may try typing in "Yoga mat", along with your city in an internet search. You can also try calling a yoga studio in your area and asking them... they will certainly know where to find a mat and a strap.

Yes, you can gain your range of motion back through gentle movement and stretching. It would be even more helpful to receive massage once or twice a week so the muscles can soften and stretch more easily.

Don't expect to progress quickly, though. Take your time, be patient and take it slowly.
