Exploring Your Patterns
This practice is two practices in one. The first round is holding each pose for one breath as we move through the sequence and the second round is holding the same poses but for ten breaths each time. We move through the sun salutations slowly, counting the full five breaths for each movement. The challenge in this class is not the poses but rather noticing the mind and our resistance to doing things differently.
This can either be done as a stand-alone class or as Day 9 of Cultivate Your Inner Teacher 14-Day Intermediate Yoga Challenge.

I feel like I'd need more concrete guidance on what these patterns/habits are, what kind of notes one might be taking during the break and how that might improve one's practice. Can you give a few examples?
This beautiful, deep class brought so much awareness of how I try to move through discomfort. With Jonni-Lyn's calming presence and cues, I was able to stay and sense much longer than usual. I love her slow, soulful pace.
That was a really wonderful experiment. I look forward to trying this practice a few more times on my self-awareness journey.
Loved this practice and adding the journaling as suggested was a great way to really integrate the observations and insights that came with the practice. Thank you!
