Elevate Day 5

Intermediate III

This class can be done as a stand-alone class or as day 5 in Fiji's 14-day yoga challenge, Elevate. Being able to listen to your body and respond appropriately is an important yogic skill. In this class, Fiji helps you learn how to hone in on key sensations so you can make critical adjustments within each pose.

Both a very challenging but also accessible class. It’s always good to meet your body where it’s at in any given moment but it was great to have the reminders in this class. I have the impulse to push too far into poses that my body isn’t ready for sometimes so it was very helpful to be reminded to pay attention to your breathe and alignment. Also always love the windmill shoulder circle movement.

Definitely challenging intermediate as each pose is held for quite a long time while Fiji talks you through it or offers increasingly difficult variations you might like to try. Excellent reminders to listen to your breath and your body, to help make that decision on how far to go and which variation to take in the moment, with no expectations. Very enjoyable!

Fiji I absolutely love your classes. The things you say while hold our poses about discernment, letting go of things that don’t serve us anymore, being kind to our body and operating from ego ... you have no idea how much it works for me. Thank you ....really. Big hug.

Sean has very very kindly gifted me two months free practice as I, like so many people, have absolutely no income at the moment. And I can tell you this is keeping me sane with knobs on. Fiji you are an amazing practitioner you are inspiring and firm without hectoring it’s a perfect combination and I feel very strong and, as somebody else in the comments has already said, light. Strong and light after this fifth day of elevate I look forward to tomorrow.

Loved this class! By the end of it I felt light and strong at the same time. Thats a first for me. I found my strength and balance was far more "on" today than it has been so far within the challenge which I think means the challenge is working! haha Could also be that I didn't have a glass of wine first. haha. Thanks again Fiji. See you tomorrow!

I loved this class - I'm in my second trimester of pregnancy and not so interested in switching over to pre-natal classes already, I'm still capable of continuing my practice like before but I have been really listening to my body more and making adjustments as I go. So having a class devoted to that specific concept was really great for me, thanks Fiji!

Your comment in the beginning about the art of discernment was so true for me. I started this Elevate Challenge to keep me sane and healthy during the lockdown due to the Coronavirus. I tried to do this practice yesterday but after about five minutes it felt too intense for my already quite tense muscles and I was stressed for time as well. I quit the practice and did a shorter programme. Today I came back to it and even though it was intense, it was perfect. Thank you so much for this opportunity!

Love the progression of this challenge -- each day builds on the previous and then pushes you a bit further. I get so much more out of the Fiji challenges than the ones with mixed instructors. So grateful to you, Fiji! And the long holds today were fire!

Thank you Fiji - I really enjoy this challenge! I have done many of your other classes before, but with this series I understand the intention of the different poses so much better with the suggestions of the different levels. Namaste!

Fiji presented a wonderful practice for Day 5. The connection of mind, body and breath is something we sometimes forget when we are doing a rigorous practice or we are at a studio we are new to. This practice will allow you to learn to accept where you are and listen to what you need (ALL OF YOU).

While I've been practicing with Fiji for a couple of years now, practicing daily is a new challenge for me. Day 5 was particularly hard, so I appreciated this paying attention and mindfulness study. It was challenging to accept my need to back off when I'm usually pushing myself forward.
I so appreciate your teachings Fiji! Thank you

Fiji offers so much by way of variation in these classes that there are virtually limitless opportunities for where the practice can take you on a given day. This morning, in a split second I felt ready for wheel pose and it felt more fluid as I focused on that very moment. Remembering Fiji's comment that mind and body should work as one and not against one another - mind and body were both thankful for the opportunity to come together in that moment. It felt pretty good too! Thank you once again Fiji for such a special series. Rob

What a wonderful flow! I loves the pace and all the variations. Binds can be difficult for me and I am wondering if using a strap now will help me reach the binds later?
