The Elements #1

Intermediate II

In this class, Crista introduces you to the elements -- earth, water, fire, air and ether -- and helps you explores how to incorporate them into your yoga practice through an innovative flow. This class can be done as a stand alone or as part of Crista's 14-Day Challenge, the Elements, in which you learn how to integrate the elements into your practice through asana, breathwork, mantra, and hand mudras. This class is also Day 20 in the Daily Dose 30-Day Intermediate Yoga Challenge.

A calming and very restorative class, without being too dragged out. Just feel refreshed and renewed after this. Love the lion's breath (makes me laugh) and the way Crista transitions so simply into pigeon pose. The flowing movements added with pigeon make it so much easier for stiff joints. Thank you. I'll be adding your challenge to my to do list.

Wonderful challenge, this is my third time. I'd like to ask you about the injury in your wrist as I have maybe the same because I feel the need to use my fists in plank pose and others.

I really liked the "flow" and tempo of this class. Crista did a great job keeping things moving at a nice pace without being overly rigorous. She also kept the breath instruction very consistent which helped me achieve some of the poses. Overall this style of yoga is exactly what I look for. Will definitely explore her other classes. Please send any suggestions if you know of similar style/tempo of classes. Thanks Crista!

I was a bit hesitant to try this challenge as I have not been practicing as much as I need to be in the past few months. I thought it might be too much for me. But I thoroughly enjoyed this class. I enjoyed the explanation of the elements and how they shape our body and movements. I loved the lions breath. While I may be a bit sore tomorrow, I will continue with this challenge. This felt wonderful in my body. I'm fighting off a cough/sore throat and have been feeling a bit down lately, but this practice brought a much needed spark of joy to my day. Thank you, Crista! I think my only critique was that eagle arms was only done on one side and not the other, but otherwise it was perfectly marvelous!!
