This class is a deep release for the shoulders and upper back, making it perfect for a variety of people, including musicians, new parents, office workers and athletes. It targets all of the muscles connecting to the upper back and shoulders, providing relief from tightness, aches and pain... all in less than 40 minutes!

This can either be done as a stand-alone class or as Day 12 of Grounding and Strength 14-Day Beginner Yoga Challenge.

These stretches feel amazing! I'm a musician so I'm always looking for ways to release tension from my shoulders. I will definitely be coming back to this video.

Dear David, I have not done yoga the past week and I noticed how difficult it was for me to walk and sit up straight. Your class helped me to have a straight body posture again. I hope to do your class again soon, maybe even already tomorrow. It feels very good and I like how at the beginning it starts slow, almost like a meditation. Thank you for everything! You bring light into our lives!

I'm starting to be able to move in ways that I had never been able to before. I have so much more freedom and openness in my upper body now (at least I feel like i do. ;-) At the end, I felt like I was sitting much straighter. This is great for me since I have a three month old baby to care for and a desk job too. I felt super after this. I was so proud I could do this class from start to finish. My neck kind of hurt doing some of the belt stuff but maybe with more practice that will go away too. I must have some tenseness in that area.

Whoa, thank you so much. I am a parent of one year old twins, just starting to have issues with my upper back and shoulders. I know I need to take better care of my body, and this was a perfect, gentle, yet effective series of poses to ease back into greater mobility and strength. I look forward to seeing how I feel tomorrow after having practiced, and hope to return to this video again and again.

Second time I do this class. The first time I found it really difficult and thought my body would ache terribly the next day. Well... no not much pain the next day just a wonderful feeling of being taller and more free. This helps my posture a lot. My full time work with preschoolers require bending down and sitting on very low chairs continually and my thighs, neck and shoulders felt so tight. I was developing odd pains in my left leg. This practice corrects my posture and gives me energy. Thank you.

This is such an amazing practice for me after I sit typing at a laptop all day. At the end of the day my shoulders are around my ears. This is starting to correct years of damage by me. Thank you.

very nice practice!! liked especially the part with the belt/rope. i felt like i could get a nice stretch for my upper back! thank you!
