Why would we inhale in angry cat and exhale in cow? It disables breathing in either way.

Hi ~ thank you for your question. I incorporated the shift of breath to awaken the body for the core work that follows. Introducing a switch of the inhale and exhale on cat/cow allows the layering of the bandhas to be introduced gently. I hope this helps :)

Very effective. On breathing during cat-cow, I could be wrong, but I find inhaling goes with cow and exhaling with cat. Did I hear the opposite instruction at one point?

Thank you for your question and it's a good one! Typically you do inhale with cow and exhale with cat pose ~ however there is flexibility depending on what the linking posture is and what the plan for the class is. In this particular sequence I was focussing a little more on core activation to set the stage for the rest of the practice. I hope that helps :))

Very calm and gentle. This includes one twist, pigeon pose and some gentle breathing and cat pose.
