This class may not be considered advanced by some yogis, but it's close. The emphasis is on fun in this 2-part series with Crista. In this class, part 1, she leads you into eka pada koundinyasana II, a challenging arm balance that requires a lot of strength, focus and balance, skills that Crista teaches you in this 40-minute vinyasa yoga class. This class leads to Koundinyasana Fun II, where you will be going through this class again, then proceeding on to Crista's 2nd peak pose, eka pada koundinyasana I. You can find both classes together in Peak Pose: Pose Dedicated to the Sage Koundinya I, which is on our Peak Pose Challenges page. You may need a block or firm pillow for this class.

Loved this class. I really enjoy Crista's style of teaching. She is so fun and uplifting! Thank you Crista :). There was a good combination of flow and stretch. I am coming off my mat feeling stronger, and I feel as though I have deepened in my practice. I definitely worked up a sweat doing eka pada koundinyasana b!

We realized we categorized this one as beginner for the first few days, so I hope it didn't surprise anyone! It's either a more challenging intermediate class or a less challenging advanced class. We chose advanced.

Thoroughly enjoyed. I loved that there was a new challenging arm balance to master and a series of poses for me to strive towards. The instruction is clear and the description of some of the micro movements (such as pressing in the inner thighs at one point) gave me insight into what Ive been doing wrong and straining calf and shins. Watching these yoga classes I am sometimes not sure how the pose should feel.
Thank you Christa.

This is a beautiful flow, in a lovely spring meadow setting. Christa, your physical strength and precise cuing are inspiring. I wouldn't call this a beginner video, however, as the quick pace and assumptions of inner control could lead to injury in one new to yoga. Thank you for teaching me some new possibilities!
