Practicing a few yoga poses after a run, when your muscles are warm and soft, will make you feel a whole lot better the next day. Post-run yoga will decrease injuries and improve the health and strength of muscles. Also, tense muscles have trouble receiving enough blood. Stretching improves the muscles' access to healthy blood and oxygen.

Thank you for this it's the perfect way to finish a run!! Love the dynamic stretches and the final few words about carrying the feelings of wellness with you throughout the day!!

No more pain
androidqueen 4 years ago

I had to stop running over the winter because I had persistent pain in my Achilles area. I stretched my calves as often as I could, but it never seemed to help. In January, I tried again, but the pain came back. Last week, I decided to try again, and do this class post-run. I've been running three times in the past week and done this class afterwards, and I have no more pain! Thank you so much!

Great post-run yoga session - some of the poses are a bit dynamic for me but that's what practice is all about ;)

thank you

I have been needing something like this for awhile now and I'm glad I finally found it. I love running but it kills my hips and my feet. This session will be part of my run routine from now on. I also want to add that you move your body beautifully and that is quite inspiring.

great post-run release

This has quickly become one of my favorites! Even if I can't get to the video after a run, I've been using many of the poses to help release my legs and recenter my body.

Amazing Improvement

I've been trying to work up to a 5km run for the past several weeks without really doing any stretching before hand (although I have been doing some gentle hatha afterwards). Today I added your pre and post run sequences to my workout and I was pleasantly surprised by how much more comfortable I felt during my run. Because my body was stretched out and aligned and feeling powerful before hand, I was better able to focus on my breath and pace. This has even seemed to improve some minor knee and hip pain I used to experience on my right side. Will definitely be making this a ritual. Thank you!

I am currently training to

I am currently training to run a marathon and this class (plus the pre run and injury prevention) has been an essential part of my training. I started with very tight hips and after doing these classes, I've been able to loosen up and have a more comfortable run. :)

Great class!

This class (and the pre-run and injury prevention classes) have been a fantastic addition to my routine. This one especially helps keep me loose and feel good after short and long runs. Thanks for posting these!
