Yoga for Absolute Beginners: Sukhasana and Dandasana
In this class, David shows you how to comfortably sit on the floor in two of yoga's more common seated positions, easy cross-legged (sukhasana) and staff pose (dandasana). He also helps you understand some of the basic yoga principles as you learn how to stretch your body effectively. This class is a part of a 'Yoga for Beginners' series. Thank you so much! I would like to take this class again.
I had a left hip replacement 6 months ago and have been released with no restrictions. I know I won't be able to sit cross legged in the beginning. I've never done yoga before but have always wanted to.
I consider myself fairly flexible but have never mastered sitting cross legged either well or for very long. Your suggestions were so helpful and made the class comfortable and enjoyable. Thank you, I look forward to lesson 2.
Thank you David for your help! As a student I went through a lo of stress lately along with other personal issues I developed some anxiety and insomnia and some type of muscle tightness so my physio avised me to give it a try. And so far I have enjoyed it, thanks David. You are a good person.
