A Beginner Strength-Building Practice
In this class, Helen helps get your blood flowing with some sun salutations, warrior I, and warrior II. She closes with a nice long reclined pose. You will see that this class is the combination of a few of Helen's shorter classes from her Absolute Beginner Series including: Salute the Sun, Warrior II, Warrior I and Finding Your Savasana.

Wow! Thank you, Helen! This was the first time I've done a body-inclusive practice and it was so refreshing! I've never heard a yoga instructor tell me to just pick up my belly if it's in the way and shift it! XD I've been practicing yoga off-and-on for the last five years or so, but have only been taking my practice seriously this past year. I've also put on 50-70 lbs since I started doing yoga. I'm finding several poses that I used to be able to do a lot more difficult with extra body in the way. I would love to see some suggestions for a narrow-legged child's pose (is my butt somehow supposed to stay on my heels even with the extra rounding needed to get over my belly/thighs and touch my forehead down?) and cow face pose (I used to be able to get my knees to align, but now it seems I have too much thigh for that to be physically doable). Neither of these poses hurt, as if I'm going too deep, I just don't seem to have the space. Would LOVE to see more of your videos! Also, you have the coolest personality! So light and easy-breezy! Like one of the other instructors on here said (David maybe?), this was a lovely balance of ease and effort. The divine light in me sees and honours the divine light in you, Helen. Namaste.
Thank you for your beautiful teaching. I love being able to find options that work for my body. Question: in the warrior poses I often feel cramping in my front shin - is this a sign of good muscle work or that I should adjust in some way?
I really loved this class thank you Helen. I feel so much more relaxed. Interesting alternative suggestions for savasana at the end
First practice that I am doing with DYWM, really enjoyed it. Thanks, Helen! Namaste
