This class is Day 1 of the Activated Asana Series and focuses on creating a strong foundation for balancing poses. It will give you the strength and tips needed to take your standing poses to the next level.
Fiji, your teaching style -- a lovely guiding voice combined with poses I am years away from perfecting -- gets me to want to keep trying instead of giving up because it is hard.
Awesome class. Going to help build strength in my runner's legs for sure! Can't wait to continue the series (but I'm going to have to at least until tomorrow!)
a 5 out of 5 as usual. I do feel very firmly planted on my feet now. In fact, I feel that my body consists primarily of the foundation, and whatever I have above the belly line is a feeble addition to the foundation :) I look forward to building up the "addition".
I really loved this class and this series but I do agree with some of the other comments about the level not being totally accurate, many of the classes felt more challenging than the usual Intermediate II...?
labeling a class is really tricky to do both online and in studio. There are not really too many advanced poses in this class, so it is hard to label as advanced. It does require stamina as you noticed but that is something that many intermediate students are bulding in their regular pracitce. This could be something to work up to for sure.
This IS a great class, but labeling it as Intermediate II is misleading and inaccurate. This kind of endurance is really fairest to ask of Advanced yogis.
Fun, invigorating, smooth, and totally accessible sequence. Thank you, Fiji! I found this series late so I did Day 5 first, but now I want to make my way through the entire series :)
I've been trying to figure out how to get more strength oriented workouts into my life since I stopped going to the gym during Covid, and this practice definitely fits the bill. Looking forward to trying the rest of the series!
One of the lessons that I've learned from your practices is to be grateful for wellness and ability, since they're not always readily there, nor should they be taken for granted. Your practices always honor whatever ability we bring to the asanas. Thank you Fiji!
Timeline means I'm a bit late. Just want to say what a challenge this was for me. I hope I can walk tomorrow. This is going to be a regular for me. I would love to be strong enough to complete it with more grace. Thankyou Fiji.
I was questioning my own sanity in scheduling this for the same day that I'd done a hilly 19k run in the morning, but in fact my stiff hip flexors were extremely grateful. Thank you Fiji!
The pace and instructions are clear and easy to follow. I hardly ever look at the screen during Fiji's classes. Just breath, listen and follow the instructions. Thank you.

Challenging indeed! Now I am motivated to do this practice more often to build up stamina, if I can walk again that is. :)

This 68 year young Gentle Yoga teacher is feeling pretty good about herself after finishing this practice. Namaste 🙏
