Interesting to note how Tracy so solidly and swiftly integrates yogic philosophy into practice. After all, that's why I am hitting the mat. It hit me hard, as my eyes crossed slightly and I viewed three pair of prayer hands, how many different ways we can see our world, yet I am fixed on one way. I'm floored with the realization of how conditioned I am. So, I wonder, if I start to play more with my body, I might find the place that exists without conditioning? Freedom perhaps? Ah, but there I go searching. Ha! I am deeply grateful for free access to this idea, this class, this practice.
When squatting, I note that I am leaning way forward and if I attempt to hold a little more solidly with core and lift a bit with my heart, I topple over backward. So, in order to maintain balance, I need to really lean forward, almost rounding my back. Are there any shifts I can play with or any progressive poses I can practice to sit comfortably in malasana (I am not sure this is correct name of pose, but I mean squatting with butt low and hands in prayer with elbows pressing against inner thigh.)? Is it a post that is "supposed to be" comfortable and not a lot of energy to hold?
Thanks

I LOVEEEE Crista's classes and the careful, fun energy she brings to them. I did this one for the first time in a while and it made me wonder why I had ever stopped. It is very intense, but while pushing you, Crista has a way of reminding you not to go too deep into the stretches if you are not there yet - everyone is on their own journey.

This class was so nice for stretching and getting the kinks out of my back after a hard workout yesterday. I will be coming back to this one often to help me feel loose and revitalized!

I found this class absolutly amazing. The mediation coaching seemed to all make perfect sense and allowed me to a reach deeper relaxation. I was able to simply visulize letting go without any distractions or judgement. This was a great experience for me as I am prone to anxiety and overthinking. And the poses allowed for a wonderful chest opening, Thank you David.

Thanks, Nyk! This was a short though entirely sweet class, chock full of relief for my oh-so-tight hips. The best part was being able to quickly set up a couple of mats at a friends home, in response to her comment about having really tight hips. Thanks to the miracle of technology, I pulled my fav yin teacher out of my actual pocket and, BOOM, problem solved. Tight hips, no more... :)

Not plus-size but after a couple decades of yoga, achieving a strong Intermediate level, have been side-tracked by health issues so am working my way back and searching for routines which cater to my current limitations. Sense of balance, which was always problematic, is now worse with age and time (I also use a walker) Therefore, working on hopefully regaining stability as well as rebuilding core and leg strength. Had to hold on to furniture for the standing poses of this practice...which is SO frustrating albeit necessary...but with Helen's pleasant and very 'real' cueing, relatable visuals, and permission to be 'playful' (which I really need to work on!) I definitely see potential and came away looking forward to tackling this practice again. I've enjoyed DYWM for many years; Helen is a welcome addition.

Fiji rocks it again. This practice was just what I needed to bring awareness to my energy, my will, my self confidence. Going through a particularly rough time and coupling movement with meditation focusing on the chakras is a beautiful and supportive experience. Thank you Fiji for sharing your gift with us.

Thank you Fiji for a wonderful flow. I havent practiced a vinyasa in too long out of fear of being out of shape post baby. This class definitely pushed my edges, but reminded me that yoga is an unfolding and provided the gentle encouragement that I needed. will be returning!

Lovely class, thank you for this resource. I would really value a longer sivasana. I don’t know what is happening in sivasana, some sort of very nourishing integrating process and when it is only just beginning we are called out of it. This feels like a very valuable part of the practice that is overlooked. Especially when we are focusing on listening to the wisdom of the body. The body was calling me to a longer sivasana.

I had doubts whether I could manage such a long class, and such advanced poses, but felt drawn to a Christa class today and am so grateful for it. It is so rich and nourishing. Lots of challenges and at the same time revelations that 'one is on the way' in the more difficult postures. This is a deep class to return to again and again over time. Christa's chanting at the end is stunning, the combination of her pure-hearted devotion and beautiful voice. And as always, she infuses the whole class with her contagious joy. Thank you x

Six months pregnant and still loving this practice! I've had restless legs and calf cramps during sleep since being pregnant, so this is a perfect stretch before bed. Adapted the twists to open twists and it doesn't get any better, for me that this. Thanks again Fiji <3

Many of the office-based sequences (including mine when I teach) focus on being seated at a desk when practicing. So, it's really nice to see a class that encourages office workers to stand. Combining this with a chair yoga sequence seems like the perfect combination.

Thank you Rachel!
