This Hatha yoga class is about Playing the Edge - exploring the point at which you feel the stretch. It begins with Sun Salutations, then flows into a challenging floor sequence that includes twists, binds, side bends.... an awesome full body opening! It finishes with an 11-minute relaxation.

I just did the "Playing the Edge" flow and I thought it was a great exercise- I did have some difficulties that I wanted to share for future reference. The first is that even though I have practiced yoga for some time, I didn't have the ankle flexibility for a lot of the sequences in the middle. This caused me some physical pain and I had to make significant modifications to the poses- I wish that these modifications had been offered explicitly by the instructor, but maybe my ankles are more inflexible than most.

My other feedback is near the end of the sequence the instructor asks the user to produce a strap, which I was unprepared for. I had to interrupt my practice to go find a belt, which wasn't the most inconvenient thing ever but a little jarring.

Other than that I was really pleased with this workout- and I'll be doing it again!

Hi there.

Thanks for taking the time to give us that great feedback.

In regards to the strap, equipment that is included in each class is listed underneath the video, after 'Equipment'. It's a good idea to check there before starting, in case the instructor doesn't mention it at the beginning of the video.

All the best,

David

I like the hip lifts in between the seated poses. Heron pose was cool too. I did find, though, that the music, especially in the first half of the class, was distracting. Perhaps the volume was a little high compared to the voice. The savasana really got me...off to dreamland...this time. Thanks :0)

Nice sequencing but I really needed a much better warm up. Maybe some Sur B's would have helped. No options for injured knees though....

I love how this class takes work from a beginner video and builds on it making it an easier advancement while still providing a greater challenge.
