Bring life to your solar plexus (manipura chakra) with this lively class that builds up heat, energy and life force so you can take on your day with brightness and confidence.
Dawn & DYWM,
I first discovered Kundalini here in your site about 7 years ago. I must say it was different and yet I knew intuitively it was very good for me. Dawn way of unfurling it for me made good sense. Thank you for adding more to her style of yoga. I would like to see more of Dawn /Kundalini for us to learn from.
Thank You ,
Namaste

This class is so so good, Dawn. I recently had a manic episode after discontinuing an antidepressant I'd been on for a long time. It damaged my nervous system, which is affecting my motor skills, sensory and digestive systems, among other things. Although these effects have started to subside, my digestion issues have been causing me a lot of discomfort. When you mentioned how the imbalanced manipura chakra can show up as dominating, controlling aggression given excessive energy, it REALLY resonated with what I've been experiencing. In fact, I was contemplating keeping myself locked inside for before I lose all my friends and cause mayhem on the streets. I'll keep working on this practice, with faith that it will benefit my healing. Thank you so much. Sat mam.
It wasnt actually the antidepressant, but the sudden influx of my own hormones after coming off of it (Effexor), mostly dopamine, combined with stimulants (coffee and small dosage of dexedrine, which I sometimes take for ADHD). I am not bipolar but have a genetic predisposition to hypomania. Along with being on my period and a bit sleep deprived, it was the right combination to damage central nervous system.
Thank you so much for sharing! I recently had a bad experience with effexor which was recommended to control my post-menopausal hot flashes. It did control the hot flashes, but the side effects were not worth it. I hope you've recovered from the damage to your central nervous system, and wish you good luck for the future.
Are all of the classes in this series appropriate for their respective chakras regardless if flow through the chakra is presently deficient, in excess, or balanced?
Wow! this was my first Kundalini session but I can really feel it in the solar plexus. Very different, I'm more into power classes but will definitely do some of these throughout the week. Anything to help digestive issues :).
I absolutely love Dawn Rabey. I have over 300 Kundalini Yoga videos and Dawn is by far the best teacher and my most favorite. She has a wonderful, calm presence and she doesn't chatter a lot like many other teachers do. Kundalini is the yoga of awareness and as such, it requires stillness and looking inward. When teachers feel the need to fill in the silence with incessant blather and cheerleading, it can be very jarring, to me, anyway. Thank you, Dawn, for being the perfect Kundalini Yoga teacher. Sat nam. <3
I haven't done yoga with this type of focus before and I really enjoyed it. I am used to doing vinyasa flows, and this was a nice change for me! I felt it worked my abs, and I was surprised 35 minutes was done that quickly.
Thank you, Dawn & DoYogaWithMe for bringing this amazing class to us! The other kundalini classes by Dawn helped me tremendously to get grounded and move through some difficult times - I am happy and grateful to see new additions to the kundalini section for energy and power. Thank you!
Great class! I feel energized, refreshed, and have a much more positive outlook on the day. I have only one small complaint...I think the volume of the singing bowl needs to be turned down. Dawn is so soft spoken that I have to have the volume up really high during the class and when the bowl gets going, it is so loud that it woke my dog and made her run around barking at the computer.

I can relate to your experience. Lots of medications have aggression as a side effect. Do you mind saying which antidepressant had this effect on you?

Hello Emily, Yes - these Kriyas for the chakras are appropriate whether the particular chakra is balanced, deficient, or in excess.

Beautifully done. This really helped me get over my mental slump I had towards a school project. I really appreciate this <3
