Chakra Seven Flow

Intermediate II

For the last of Fiji's 7-part series taking you through a healing journey of the chakras, Fiji helps align your crown chakra, or Sahasrara chakra. Her chosen sequencing and cueing feel just right and she completed the class with a meditation that brings your 7-day experience together into one, a unified energy system that is always within you.

Great meditation to integrate the chakra series. I would rate it as less challenging than Intermediate II since it's essentially a meditation class incorporating a couple of the more grounded poses from each of the previous classes in the series.

Thank you so much for this series, Fiji, I have never been a big believer in chakras but I found this challenge so helpful during a difficult week in lockdown, exactly what my body and soul needed. It is thanks to you that I became a yogi, 9 years ago just after the birth of my daughter when I lived in Rio de Janeiro and suffering from anxiety due to a lot of violent crime in my neighbourhood. Your classes helped me immensely, and while I now live in a very peaceful Portuguese village, I still come to your classes almost every day. Thank you so much for all that you do!

Hi Lucy, Thank you for sharing! This series would be helpful during these difficult times. The idea that rings true to yogis, is that we are multi-layered beings, physical, mental, emotional, and energetic. The chakra system is part of our subtle body anatomy, which is where all the layers of self converge. Taking time to work through all the feelings, past traumas, and belief patterns is a way of finding more inner freedom, and a little liberation right now is much needed! I am happy to hear you are safe in Portugal, that country is near and dear to my heart! I was teaching a YTT program near Tavira last spring!

I find that I am continually challenged and inspired in my practise through your wise words, as you playfully keep me on 'the edge ' ,always wanting to strive to do my best and grow! Are you running your women's weekend on vancouver island this summer?

Hi Alison,

I am so happy you are staying inspired and challenged by the offerings! At this time we do not have plans for our Annual reWylding Retreat, most likely we will pick that up again summer of 2021. I do still have a fall retreat booked at Hollyhock in October, I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed that I get to lead it! Keep in touch with me on facebook, instagram, or email me at [email protected]

Unfortunately I'm not very good at giving feedbacks, but I decided to improve in this field.
I'm very grateful for this Chakra-series. These 7 days of practicing were really inspiring and fruitful for me, not only physically, but also mentally and spiritually. And it was very interesting to find out that there can be some kind of relation between some chakras and some stages of psychosocial development in Erikson's model. Earlier in my life I found this model very useful to understand how I became the one I am, and to understand and even to begin the healing of some early traumas. Now I'm delighted to see that these stages are somehow live together in the chakra system. For me this means that their healing might happen in more levels (and not only in mental level).
Thank your Fiji for this wonderfully built series,
and thak you, dywm!

Thank you for sharing! Yes I love the book Eastern Body, Western Mind, because it actually shows that the foundational information of the chakra system is in line with Erickson, Freud, Piaget, etc. There is a psychology that impacts us on a mental, physical, and emotional level and addressing all the layers is the best way to heal and grow.

Thank you ever so much, Fiji! It makes sense now, my meditation, I mean. This last class is the most challenging one because it requires a work of mind , which is at times significantly harder than difficult poses. This last class taught me that I need to go back and start the chakra circle again, with a more learned understanding of how to approach my body.

Hi Fiji,

I am loving your classes! I love your pacing and cues that help me tune into my body more deeply. I also chuckle at some new pretzel position I find myself in during your classes--and to which I laugh with my partner later about: "Fiji's not messing around!" Your classes have helped re-inspire my daily yoga practice after stepping away for a year to nurse a shoulder injury. Thank you!

For this class, I am confused by some of the references to chakra front and back attachment points. I think you attached the 2nd chakra to the tailbone, which I thought was the domain of the first. The third chakra usually is referenced as the solar plexus I think you mention that it's below the navel, which I thought was 2nd chakra? Perhaps you are using a different mapping source and if so, I am curious about that.

Thanks!

I am happy to hear that you are enjoying the classes and that they are helping to heal that shoulder!!

This is a great question!! I recently studied with an incredible woman who has been studying yoga and Ayurveda at the Bihir School in India for almost 30 years. She re-taught me about the chakras! I had been opperating on the "general" knowledge of where they are, how they work, and how to work with them. What she taught me is no a more refined understanding, but will conflict slightly with what others teach. My new understanding is that Muladhara is the only chakra not housed in the spine, it dwells in the pelvic floor. This starts to make sense when you begin to study subtle body anatomy and the origniation of sushumna nadi and kundalini energy. Chakra 2 then sits near the tailbone and chakra 3 slightly below the navel centre.

Thank you so much Fiji. This was exactly what was needed for me today. My whole spine was cracking and adjusting as you led me up the chakras. I now feel very at peace within myself, feeling that beautiful connection to the universe and myself.
