Birds of a Feather

Intermediate III
Fiji explores variations on four bird-related yoga poses - crow, or crane pose (bakasana), eagle pose (garudasana) and pigeon pose (eka pada rajakapotasana), finishing with flying pigeon pose. She warms your body with an energizing flow, building strength and focus before flying like a bird, then sinking into deep stretches and a wonderful savasana. Music provided by Yogitunes.

This was the toughest yet of the 3-week Neck and Shoulder Challenge. I’m not close to one-legged crow but maybe someday! I could at least attempt the rest.

I never thought the day would come when I would be able to keep up with this class. It’s one of my favorites but I used to find it very challenging. After a year of constant practice, I finally did it from beginning to end! Still working on flying pigeon but the rest came along nicely. Highly recommend this class!

I love everything Fiji does. This class is - of late - my favourite. I have done it almost daily for the last few months with a view to mastering crow & flying pigeon. It has taken a while but I can now do crow & my flying pigeon is coming along (fluttering & flapping ). I am very grateful and am looking forward to continuing to progress. thank you for a great website

No floating for me yet but I love this class with modifications. Your directions are perfectly paced and I always finish your classes feeling better and as though I've discovered something new. Thank you!

This is a challenging one for me too but I love the interesting standing pigeon pose. I am slowly working on my crow pose and I' getting there. As always I need more practice on balancing one leg

Just revisited this class after a couple of years as part of the 2020 new year challenge, and I am astonished at how far my practice has developed from first time around - a wobbly, giggly, collapsing heap of human- to now! I managed almost everything except the full flying pigeon, and I did manage to get one foot off the ground for a split second. The millimetre miracles are happening!

Very nice challenge- although I was a bit wobbly, I enjoyed this. Felt like it was the perfect length also. :)

I love coming back to this video again and again as a way to check in with myself. It is so relaxing yet challenging. For some reason though, I always find that the transition from warrior 3 to pigeon pose towards the end of the video on my right side always gives me a very intense and unpleasant sensation in my right hip to the point where I have to ease off pigeon pose and shake it off. Doesn't happen on my left side for whatever reason, so I'm waiting for the day when that transition is less painful.

Each time I do this lovely practice I get closer to floating in the sky. Thanks for letting us ake flight.

For some reason I cannot receive audio on this file. All the others work fine.

I find the audio doesn't always work so what I do is set the volume up high BEFORE I open the video, then turn the audio down as you need to.

Just loved the creative theme and newly woven transitions.
Feeling the shoulder strength from a playful and lightening way.
And some birds still need to learn getting off the ground, in my world. :-)
Awesome class with Fiji.

This was tough in places but Fiji really built a lot into 35 mins. It's challenging but also very freeing - in the hip area. I will be returning to this practice again and again.

I find this class challenging but very rewarding. I can literally feel it building my strength and flexibility. I'm in awe of how Fiji can do all those poses plus talk and breathe.

Thank you so much for the wonderful class! This was so helpful for me as I keep progressing into arm stands. One day I will be able to do all these poses for more than just a moment, and I am sure that this class will help me get there

Love this class! My second time completing it and I am once again reminded of how challenging it is. It's a good workout physically and mentally. It's also a good reminder that I still have a lot to learn about yoga! ..still can't master some of the poses in this video.

I also have a hard time holding crow pose for then a second or maybe two (my younger self could do it with ease). This is encouraging and I'm hoping I'll eventually be able to do it with ease. Good strengthening flow and instruction. Thank you for a thoughtful class.

This class re-energized me and gives me hope that I may eventually be able to do a full crow and more. I really wasn't sure that that was something my body would ever be capable of before. I feel so open and strong. Thank you Fiji.

I thought this was very challenging for any intermediate level class. Definitely seemed more advanced to me. I enjoyed the challenge, but was not prepared for how difficult it was.

This class is brilliant. Although am still struggling with the crow pose as I am unable to hold it barely more than few seconds or sometimes fall on my nose :) I will return back to this definitely .Thank you Fiji for this beautiful class and your precise instructions.

Don't let the shorter length of this class fool you. It is tough and thorough and packs in all the love and intensity you would expect from Fiji! Great for the hips, shoulders, arms, and especially the core. These three bird poses combined with standing balances are challenging, but leave you feeling open and exhilarated!

I'd also be greatful for a class in this style but perhaps an hour long :)

This practice is TOUGH and awesome at the same time. I was able to get into crow pose and stay for the longest I've ever been able to stay thanks to Fiji's instruction. I enjoyed the three peak poses and the format of the class. I also think this is a great core blaster. Namaste.
