This powerful vinyasa yoga class with Tracey is a playful hip opening practice, centered around the gift we give ourselves of letting go. She encourages you to dive into twists and deep hip openers while giving you the ability to see beyond the physical asana. You will detoxify and slowly peel back the layers that often hold us back. This class is categorized as advanced, but may still be accessible to intermediate students.

another wonderful Tracey class....gently led into powerful poses. thank you
oh WOW! who knew.....great direction to the gentle transitions into the peak pose. Thank you , Tracey.
I am so impressed how has quite a few poses shift for me. I was able to do handstand very easily, as well lotus with lifting up and transitions. I am endlessly grateful, how can we move deeper and deeper, yet with gentle and kind practise. All about patience and regural practise, thank you for great class. Namaste
Hi Tracey- thanks for this great class! Quick question though- when we were prepping for lotus and were doing tree on the mat and you had us turn our feet so the toes were pressed on them at and the foot was turned in- I never knew this area of my body existed- is this placement just very difficult if we have tight and ankles? I'm pretty flexible-although not flexible to really hold lotus) but my toes had such difficulty touching the floor. If this shouldn't be too difficult I'm wondering if I did the form incorrectly.
Thanks!
There is a great deal of flexibility required for lotus, and most people are surprised that most is required in the feet and ankles not jus the hips. It takes time to open the ankles and toes, especially if they are tight. If this placement is a new one for you, give it some time, repeat it for a few weeks and see how quickly things change.
Yes- I am so surprised a lot of it is in my feet and ankles- I'm also surprised how little awareness I had that these areas are tight. This has been a fun awakening because since I've taken this class I've been stretching and exploring the sensations in my feet. It's a whole new world! Thanks Fiji.
I chose this class because I was still sore from a 7 mile hike with a 3800 foot vertical climb (lots of switchbacks). I thought the class would help me release a bit even though I expected to be very tight. I don't know why, but I was able to complete the class with more strength and flexibility than ever before. My hips have relaxed, my tenderness is less and I think that hike made me stronger and better able to do this class. I am really grateful. I was feeling a little bummed because I could not get to the top (my kids went on as I asked them to). I made the decision to stop about 40 minutes from the top and still was in the dark for the last 1/2 mile down (with flashlight). I know it was a good decision to stop when I did because I think it would have been too much on my knees and hips to add another approx hour and half of hiking. After doing this class, I feel even better about my decision because I got stronger and more flexible and didn't hurt anything!! Yoga has really helped me learn to listen to my body and given me the strength to shush my ego. Thanks for this class!
On a day that feels more trying than most during these challenging times, this hour was exactly what I needed. Thank you so much Tracey and DoYogaWithMe!
I can't believe I did it! This was a beautiful practice and what a great lead in to hidden lotus pose. Thank you again Tracey!
Thank you so much for this class, Tracey. I was immensely surprised and overjoyed when my feet slipped into lotus pose for the first time in my life. I feel like a true yogi now :)
This class is so delicious. Harmonising, aligning and Tracy guides us along like a river. My heart is overflowing with gratitude.
Usually in lotus position the tops of my feet or my outer ankles really hurt. This class had plenty of prep to allow me to get into a truly comfortable lotus. I had never tried hidden lotus before and found it surprisingly relaxing. Great class, Tracey!
First advanced class
Every time I complete one of Tracey's classes, I feel better, internally and externally. She slowly and deliberately takes you into the pose, getting you to places that you had know idea were accessible to you. Thank you, Tracey, for help us aging yoginis feel like we can still meet challenge with grace and success.
I love Tracey's classes.
I was hesitant of doing an advanced class when I haven't done a yoga session in almost 2 weeks...but it was great. She's just the best.
I love this class! Great pace, great attention to symmetry and staying present with the "stay for the exhale" reminders I so often need.
Thank you Tracey for such a lovely class. I didn't realise this one was advanced when I chose to try it... and I can't do lotus at all... but I still really enjoyed it. My hips felt nicely stretched and my half lotus was much more comfortable by the end, which was great. :)
Lotus - floating, hidden, or otherwise! - isn't accessible to me, but I enjoyed all of the postures leading up to it. A wonderful deep stretch for the hamstrings and low back, and Tracey's perfect pacing. Thank you!
This was just challenging enough but not too difficult. I appreciate the work toward opening up the hips and feet to attain lotus without strain. I will come back to this one for sure!
I'm not an advanced student. I'm glad I read Karen77 and tried the class. She's right. Good pace. The transitions are probably a bit faster than in most intermediate classes, but not to the point where I felt rushed. A few things were a challenge for me. Anything on one leg, but I loved trying it. When we got to the Lotus pose exercise I was sure I was just going to have to do it one leg at a time. I managed it though. Couldn't hold it as long as lovely Tracey, but will revisit Lotus pose and this class.
What a fantastic yoga sequence! Thank you so much for it! Namaste
I loved this flow. Thank you Tracy!
It's so exciting to come to the site and find new classes from my favourite teachers. Tracey never lets me down and I loved this great hip-opening class! Thank you so much!
I consider myself a beginner-intermediate and I found this to be the perfect amount of challenge. My hips definitely feel more open and loose! Love it!
