Marichyasana I: Strength and Stretch
This is the first of a series of two classes that lead you into a seated arm bind pose called marichyasana I (A), or pose dedicated to the sage marichi A. This class focuses on strengthening and stretching the key muscle groups that will prevent you from achieving the full pose if they are tight, such as the legs, back, hips and shoulders. The kind of rotation you need in the shoulder joint takes time to establish, so David devotes this class to beginning that release, so you are ready for the second class: Marichyasana II: Full Pose.

Good class. It would be a great class for the desk worker people (having been one for many years). The shoulder and hip stretches were excellent.
David is a soft spoken, gentle guy. With some instructors on this site I can close my eyes and follow, but I had to sit up a few times to see what he was doing. I also had to look a few times because he used moves I hadn't done before, and I've done a fair bit of yoga over the years. Always great to try new stretches!
I'd do this class again. I'm a sloucher and my shoulders can always use stretching.
Thank you so much for this great beginning class. I completed this challenge quite some time ago, and should have kept up, but for one reason or another I didn't. This was a great "get back into it" session and am looking forward to the next class. Great instructions!
I enjoyed this one very much and can see me doing it 3 times a week. I am still requesting better sound quality though. Thank you
I am a flight attendant and my schedule changes every week. So many times I cant go to my yoga classes. And I will sleep at a hotel in another city tonight, and put this class on my tablet today, and I feel just fantastic after a long and tireing day and before a shower and going into bed. Thank you so much for being so clear and simple.
