This class is a solid intermediate Pilates class to challenge your mobility and power. Pushing you towards the last, even more, intense class in this series.
This is such a great class- i feel strengthened and more upright. Please more (and maybe longer) classes like this!!! I also really like your authentic and natural teaching style.
Amazing class. I wasn't able to do it everything you did, but I still feel the therapeutic difference it made on my back. I will be checking all your videos and do more of this type of work. That's exactly what my whole body needs. Thank you so much.
Thank you, Kathi! While I was not able to do all the poses/exercises, I enjoyed the challenge of this class and the change of pace, and look forward to returning to this class again -- hopefully getting stronger. I especially loved the rotator cuff exercise!
Thank you Kathi & DYWM for the gift of a new Pilates class, with some unique and new to me poses with the Theraband. It definitely helps to either watch the class first or rewind to dial in to the nuances of the pose. I will add this class to the rotation since it was such a good core and shoulder workout that left me feeling loose but energized, maybe even taller!
It's been a long time since I tried Pilates, and it reminded me just how thorough a workout it can be! It's a nice complement to yoga. I will go back to this class again and again.
Fantastic class - essential elements of Pilates all in one class. I used to do Pilates - this got me excited to go back to it. I 'll be following this instructor!
Kathi thank you for this class! I would really like to integrate Pilates in my practice as it's complementary to yoga and I can see the manifold benefits it offers. Though many times I wasn't sure if I'm doing exactly what you were saying, and that's how I feel always when I'm trying out a Pilates class... I would really appreciate to see a "Pilates Challenge" on this website, where it would be explained more thoroughly at the beginning what certain words/expressions really mean, and have a certain amount of classes included which would build up one's interest and practice into this wonderful practice. I'm sure there are many people here who would love to LEARN & PRACTICE Pilates. Thank you!
Thank you for giving us something new as a challenge! Could you define the word 'imprint', please? I think that is the term you were using. While not yoga, I appreciate new ways to move and use my muscles. Keeps not only my body more limber but my brain, too!
Like the 1st Pilates class in this 2022 challenge, as a beginner I was not able to follow or understand this class. The instructor used terminology that was new to me without any explanations. I was disappointed to find another Pilates class in what I thought was a yoga challenge.
I’ve enjoyed these Pilates opportunities popping up through this 22 day journey. They are challenging and function as a reminder to explore new learning opportunities and challenge myself. Thank you!
I don't know why pilates just isn't something I get excited about. Still, Kathi is an encouraging and competent instructor. One of my favorite teachers reminded me that the poses I don't "like" are probably the exact ones I should be exploring. Applying this pilates ....
The core strength and form felt very complementary to the yoga practices. Would have liked a modification suggestion for the quad stretch, for those of us with bad knees.
I enjoyed this more than the first pilates class, really felt the abs in this one. I agree that the cueing could be a little more thorough for some of us who have never done a pilates class and may not be familiar with the postures. I also do not own a theraband so I felt a little left out that I couldn't get the full experience with those exercises. I'm glad this class was in the challenge, I never would have tried pilates otherwise.
I have a thera band but chose to use my yoga strap for some of the exercises. My thera band was also a lot shorter than hers, but it worked well enough--try the band or use nothing--I think using nothing would be just as helpful.
I did pilates regularly several years ago and now I remember why my abs used to be so strong! I like that this requires intermediate strength but more beginner-style cuing would be helpful. Watching the move the first time worked well and when I return to this video, hopefully I'll remember. I had a resistance band that worked well for the exercises.
Enjoyed this but found it a bit hard to follow as it went along at a very swift clip. I like having Pilates as part of the 2022 Challenge, something new! ( for me!)🌈
I like the addition of pilates. It is easy to get set in a certain style of practice and this serves to mix it up. I also realized that maybe my core is not as strong as I thought it is. Thank you for the variety.
I have not done Pilates before the earlier class in this Yoga Challenge so found this Intermediate Pilates class difficult to follow and do. I do not have a band, but did the exercises without them and still benefitted. It would have been helpful to have had more beginner level Pilates instruction to become familiar with the terms (imprint?) and moves.
Hi there, imprinting in pilates is when your spine is flat on the flor and there is minimal space between the floor and the spine. the neutral position in pilates is with the natural curvature of the spine when lying down so a small gap in the lower back. Hope this helps!
I love having Pilates lesson in this challenge, it's a big plus! Looking forward to follow other challenges like this! I love Kathi's classes! <3 Namaste!
I haven’t done many Pilates lessons so I sometimes felt lost but I love the strength exercises and definitely plan on learning more. My stretch band was not long enough.
I find it confusing and honestly hard to have pilates in the middle of this yoga challenge--its confusing and none of the regular DYWM Intermediate classes focus on abs like this does. Its discouraging.
I found this one much easier to follow than the first pilates video in this challenge, and I enjoyed the greater variety of exercises (great shoulder stretches!). I had a shorter theraband because the one I had broke in half, but I think it still worked okay for the most part.
I really struggled to follow the dialogue and to make it useful.
The prop used is not a strap but an elastic band, which is useful to know beforehand as it is not obvious as to what alternatives to do without one.

Fantastic class, thank you Jenni. Really informative and definitely one I will be doing again.

Awesome! Perfect for travel with my band. Thank you
not my thing at all but I did it in any case
girl....my abs! thank you I discovered some work to master
I really enjoyed the strengthening and deep stretching, my spine feels ready for the day! Thank you so much!

Great session!

i really appreciate the specific core work that the Pilates classes bring to this challenge. thank you :-)
Thanks.

Same question about the "imprint," thx for asking!

Couldn't connect to the first Pilates class, to this one neither. Chose on of my favourite classes instead to keep up the challenge pace. ;-)
The core strength and form felt very complementary to the yoga practices. Would have liked a modification suggestion for the quad stretch, for those of us with bad knees.
I liked the class. I wish there was more demonstration for the inversion modifications. Was not quite sure what to do.

I enjoyed the core work in this class. Some of the transitions were too quick for me, but I was able to pause the video and reset before continuing.
Not a flow class at all so wasn't expecting a Pilates class according to the Power Into 2022 Challenge description.

I was not sure about this one but really enjoyed it! Thank you 🙏

Thank you, nice class.
I very much appreciate these introductions to Pilates. It feels great and fun (love those rolls!). Can’t wait to dig into Kathi’s other classes!
pilates is unfamiliar as are the terms and equipment so it's frustrating to try and do this in the midst of the challenge
I find it confusing and honestly hard to have pilates in the middle of this yoga challenge--its confusing and none of the regular DYWM Intermediate classes focus on abs like this does. Its discouraging.
Yay! Some classic pilates that I didn’t realize I have been missing! (Note - The stretch band needs to be a minimum of 4 feet long. Longer is better)
oh, hello abs! I'm new to pilates and Kathi makes it a great workout. Thanks!
I found this one much easier to follow than the first pilates video in this challenge, and I enjoyed the greater variety of exercises (great shoulder stretches!). I had a shorter theraband because the one I had broke in half, but I think it still worked okay for the most part.
I enjoyed the addition of the Theraband.
Thank you Kathi for this class, it was challenging and engaging but never felt too much.
Pilates is new to me and I have really enjoyed both the classes within the Power Into 2022 challenge - thank you!
I really struggled to follow the dialogue and to make it useful.
