In this 25 minute vinyasa flow class, Jonni-Lyn guides you through a few different headstand (sirsasana) variations, including finding full lotus while upside down. There's a fun transition from headstand II, to chutaranga included. Watch for it and remember to flex your feet if you are going to give it a try. To cool down the nervous system, the class ends with shoulder stand and variations.

Hi, Not sure if I can ask a question here.
On headstand 2, how do I avoid feeling pressure at the top of the head? I can do shirshasana 1 without issues, but shirshasana 2 seems to put pressure at the top of the head.

Hi there,
You may absolutely ask questions here! Honestly, its almost impossible to avoid feeling the pressure on the top of your head in Sirsasana 2. In 1, you have all of your forearms on the ground, which takes a lot (or even all if you choose) of the weight off of your head. In 2, its easier to balance but you have the weight on the top of your head and your hands only. A good trick is to pull your hands isometrically together, as well as legs and push into the floor to lift up. As in, root down to rise up. But in the end, you will always have a fair bit of weight on your head and if its too much, there are lots of other poses to do!
Warmly
Jonni-Lyn

Definitely advanced however it was fun and playful. And, holding the inversions did make me feel different afterwards.
