This short fusion class with Melissa incorporates pilates style exercises to build strength and increased awareness of your pelvic floor and deep abdominals. While this challenging class is beginner friendly, it is also a good fit for anyone with a stronger practice that wants to build more strength around their pelvis, hips, hamstrings, abdominals and lower back. 

This can either be done as a stand-alone class or as Day 13 of Grounding and Strength 14-Day Beginner Yoga Challenge.

This is almost perfect as a prenatal core workout. I’m 27 weeks pregnant, and everything was exactly what I needed— except for the poses laying on my belly! I can still lay face down for now, but it’s not the most comfortable thing, so I just did a modified cobra during those parts. I love Melissa’s calm energy, and she’s been one of my favorite DYWM instructors for some years now. Would it be possible to get more of these Pilates-yoga fusion classes?? Especially for us pregnant folks? ;)

Thank you for bringing Pilates movements into this practice. I miss the Barre Pilates classes I regularly attended before Covid-19. I’ve done the DYWM Pilates/Yoga Challenge and hope to do it again this winter.

Great class. Love Melissa's encouraging words, options for different poses, and pacing. And the waves......Can't go anywhere here in locked down Ontario so it is soooo wonderful to see and hear the ocean.
