Note: Our peak pose challenges are meant to be flexible, allowing you to do each class when it suits you and feels right. For example, you can do classes back-to-back on the same day or leave 2 or 3 days in between. It's totally up to you.
In two classes, Crista teaches you how to prepare your body for two of the more challenging arm balances that yoga has to offer, Eka Pada Koundinyasana I and II.
Both the deep stretching and strength that is needed may leave you feeling sore after Class 1, so feel free to take one or two days of rest. Also, you may want to have a block or firm pillow close by for both classes.

Crista begins with a vinyasa flow that takes you to the peak pose Eka Pada Koundinyasana II, a challenging arm balance that will require a significant amount of shoulder strength and flexibility in the hips, legs and back. Her progression toward the peak pose will help your body move there more gradually, providing a nice level of preparation, physically and mentally.

In class 2, you will begin by doing Koundinyasana Fun I over again, revisiting the identical progression to Eka Pada Koundinyasana II, before moving onto stage 2 and the peak pose Eka Pada Koundinyasana I. Koundinyasana Fun I has two purposes in this final class: one, to help you progress to the first peak pose and two, to help you prepare for the added challenge and demand of stage 2.
