This class is slow, gentle and offers a deep opening for the muscles around the hips, lower back and legs. Its pace alone allows you to sink into a beautiful state of calm. Add the beautiful sounds of Craig Paterson, master musician, and you will be lulled into a deep, lovely, relaxed state. I love the concept of this class, the body positioning and it’s calm presentation. But since I have had both of my knees replaced 13 years ago, I have been unable to sit in anything but an extremely loose cross legged position and even before knee replacement I was unable to sit on top of folded knees without a block. Even with a bolster or a block, I am unable to get even close to some of David’s positions. Am wondering if it will do more harm than good to try these poses given my limitations? I hope not, but am not clear on how to modify the poses to make them more accessible to me.

Hi Sharon. Thanks for sharing. You're right, this class doesn't offer modifications for the seated positions. If your knees hurt when sitting on your heels, is sitting cross-legged an option, on a block or folded blanket?

I have had trouble with a tight left hip and glute area for the past couple of weeks. I keep coming back to this session for a great relief. always does the trick.
