If you have lower back tightness or pain, sometimes a gentle class where you hold the poses for longer periods of time can be the most effective way to find relief. Sarah-Jane's choice of poses will help you do that in this 30-minute yin yoga class. She helps you release many of the muscles that are commonly involved in lower back issues, and she helps you through it with specific guidance and knowledge of anatomy. I had my phone on charge while this video was running so I wasn’t able to look at the video very easily as it was up on the table. I found it hard to follow just by listening. For the transition from the first position of seated, soles of the feet together, knees out to the sides, to the next, which was wide leg seated - Sarah-Jane didn’t actually say to widen your legs, just an instruction to not worry about flexing your feet too strongly. I was trying to figure out what I was supposed to do just by listening. Actually I had to come out of the position to peek at my video before I knew what to do. Unfortunately I then lost trust in the practice and the teacher. I can always follow the other instructors perfectly just by listening, with clear guidance and instruction, but in this video I feel Sarah-Jane was very vague at times.
