This is a great video for absolute beginners to stretch in places you wouldn't normally stretch. There are some great routines I'll keep with me like the toe and foot sequences. Other parts drag on a little bit but that is why this is a beginner video.

HI MindB0dy,
"stretch in places you wouldn't normally stretch" - that's why I love these movements! They yield all sorts of surprises.
Sorry to drag on! Us yoga teachers can do that sometimes. Thanks for that feedback, too. Always good to have some perspective on my teaching.

Thanks for practicing,
Erica

I'm a full out, never before tried yoga beginner. Is this video a good place to start? Any recommendations for a total noob?

Thanks!

Yes, this is a great video to begin with, although you still may be quite sore the next day due to the length. I would recommend starting with gentle, short classes, such as the one of the shorter Yoga Therapy segments or A Stretch Class for Beginners (I or II).

If you're looking to get a good stretch and you're not worried about being sore the day after, try Melissa's Twist and Stretch or Bend and Stretch, as well as David's 30-Minute Class for the Shoulders or Yoga for Hips, Hamstrings and Back.

Any of the Restorative classes would be suitable as well. Simply choose 'Restorative' under Style.

There are so many places to start! I can keep going, but I think you have enough to go on. Fire me an email through the Contact Us page if you have any more questions.

Take care,

did I miss something? is there a part two? It was FANTASTIC and I'm going to incorporate some of these stretches with my clients, but my lower body except for my feet is feeling neglected!

Hey Carhartica,
Sorry to leave you hanging. There were many factors that went into deciding how to film this one, so it may have been a bit of a different experience than another one of my yoga therapy classes would be. Maybe add another round or two of the lunge and hamstring stretch - I know that usually does it for me for legs!
Good luck, and let me know if you come up with a creative solution!
