Having access to your and Tracey's classes has helped me slow down and realize the benefits of breath work while strengthening, stretching and just being. I am a former gym rat and between an injury, getting older and my scoliosis I've had to change things up over the last several years. It was hard to let go of that mentality of no gain without an intense workout. I realize, finally, that I can strengthen my body in a loving way or just allow myself to enjoy stretching or meditating. I particularly enjoy the many options or alternative poses you provide if something doesn't feel comfortable. Your online classes have brought me a lot of comfort. I will make a donation today. I found this site a couple weeks ago and I. LOVE. Y'ALL! A few years ago I was so fortunate to work at a company that had a gym, and they had a great 45min lunchtime yoga class on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I have missed that perk SO MUCH and have wanted to start a home practice ever since. Well, I remodelled my living room recently so now I have the room to do yoga, and your website has been amazing for providing really amazing, great quality videos to follow! I do miss yoga class *sometimes* but honestly, being able to do yoga at my pace in my own house and choose from so many different classes is fantastic! I LOVE YOUR SITE!!!* Love it love it love it! I am excited to go home and do yoga after work now, I'll browse the site during the day and pick the class that appeals to me that day and then spend the rest of the day looking forward to it. Having that kind of enthusiasm is amazing and makes my day! I discovered DYWM about a year ago through a friend. Little did I know then that it would become a daily part of my life! From my very first Foundations in Flow class with Fiji, I felt so grateful to have found this site. What sets it apart from so many other online yoga sites is not the fact that it's free (so many are). It's not because there are different class lengths and styles. It's not the clean and well-organized site (though that's fantastic.) It's the QUALITY of the teachers, and their very apparent love of what they teach. There's no "rock star" feel here, which is so refreshing. I love that I can come to these classes at any time, for the length of time I have available, open up and finish feeling, strong, centered and happy! I am fortunate to be able to pay for a yearly subscription. Every time I log on, I feel its the best $$ I've ever spent. Many thanks!
I have been practicing yoga for two years now. I was searching for a way to both be at peace and challenge my mind, but at the same time become proud of my body for what it is and the natural abilities it is capable of. This site has been a continuing source of inspiration for me. Battling anxiety and anorexia has been a struggle, but I find myself at greatest peace when I practice a variety of the videos shown on this site. I have made great gains in self-awareness and I want to thank each and every one of the teachers who continuously produce videos for helping me get to where I am today (whether or not that was your intentions). I'm writing to say thank you David for all the amazing work you do, and also to thank the other teachers who contribute videos to Do Yoga With Me. I've been using it for a number of years (donating when I can) and am really impressed with the commitment to make yoga accessible to everyone regardless of income, and the breadth and depth of the videos on the site. There is something for everyone on Do Yoga With Me! As a Zen practitioner I frequently recommend the site to people who are just starting meditation practice both for help in opening up hips and also grounding in the breath. Fellow members of an international half marathon training group I was part of last year are loving the videos for help with tight hamstrings, back muscles and shoulders. My 73-year-old father, who's completely new to yoga and has a neuromuscular disorder, uses the chair videos and other gentle beginner videos, and I also have friends who are experienced practitioners who love the intermediate and advanced videos. The site has particularly meant a lot to me in the past 18 months as I've been struggling with agoraphobia and a panic disorder that has made it difficult to leave home some days. To still be able to maintain a yoga practice at home has helped me so much. And the addition of classes for anxiety, depression, and stress is a wonderful broadening of the material on the site! It's clear that this site is a labour of love. Thank you for all of your efforts!
I just want to thank you for this site. I have just tried some neck release yoga that has already made my neck feel better. I will donate as soon as I am able too, unfortunately, I have had all my disability benefits taken away but am fighting to get them back. Although I cannot donate money at this point I will pass this site on and do for others what I can. Namaste
I can't express how grateful I am for this website, though I can see a lot of people have certainly already tried. It's an unfortunate reality that when money is the tightest, you're the most stressed, and you can't afford classes is when you need yoga the most. I had been trying to continue my practice at home, but what do I know? I'm definitely not an instructor, and I can only work through those poses and flows that I've experienced before (and there's no guarantee I remember them perfectly, or can always keep my own form in check). DoYogaWithMe has just been a lifesaver. When I first found the site and opened my first video (with the enchanting Ms. Fiji!), I couldn't seem to help choking back a few tears. What a RELIEF! I can't wait to have enough money to contribute to and support this incredible gift and cause. All my friends will know, too! Thank you so much!!
Hi there! I recently discovered this website and I just wanted to say thank you so much for providing such a wonderful service free of charge! I've had really bad back pain for a long time now and I can already feel a difference after having done just a few practices. I really appreciate everything you are providing, and especially the voluntary subscription aspect of it. As a university student with hardly any income and a fair bit of debt I can't afford to take yoga classes anywhere and this has been a really wonderful discovery. I feel terrible for not being able to donate at the moment but as soon as I have a bit of money I will, absolutely. Thank you again, so much!
Thank you for this fantastic website!! I have only been on for about a week and have tried a few of the free beginner classes, but I am already noticing improvement with my hip and lower back issues. What a valuable and wonderful resource to be able to use in the privacy of my own home. David Procyshyn's instruction is clear and easy to follow and seems to be an answer to my prayers. I have suffered two cerebral strokes in the past ten years due to a medical condition that I have. After the second stroke which has been over two years now I still have problems walking. In addition, I have tightness in the affected area, the right side which has turned my life upside down. But I discovered your website by accident and I practice working on loosening my tight hips, legs, lower back, neck---to be frank, the entire body. Unlike other yoga videos that bombard you with too much bla bla bla, these videos help you get centered and feel your body. I love this site! Melissa is so kind and gentle. Tracy is full of love and her classes are just my style. David, you always make my aches and pains go away. Fiji, I did your class all winter long and memorized it so I could do my own classes in Cuba ( No internet , no worries). I have told so many people about this site.
