I love David's classes. I have found that I don't have to watch the screen so much when I am following his class as he moves through poses as though he is taking part, which is just after the instructions. This gives the student time to move as well.
I also like the way that, whilst David is extremely supple, in the beginner classes he holds the position as a beginner would so that when you look at the screen, his body position is the same as yours. In a forward bend, for example, he doesn't put his head on knees but holds it above as a beginner would. This gives so much encouragement.
Thank you for the idea that everyone should have access to Yoga classes and for the time and work you have put in to make then available. I will be choosing a couple of favorite classes and buying the videos.
I have practiced yoga for almost 3 years, but nowadays, due to financial issues, I had to stop with the classes.

I have been discouraged with yoga for many years. As a rather self conscious newbie, I became frustrated with the ineffectual classes that I had attended. Videos were too cheesy and had poor cueing and live classes were too quick.
Then I found your site and completed my first yoga sequence with Fiji. I was blown away with the incredibly precise cueing Fiji provided throughout the entire class. In addition to the cueing, her thoughtful words during the meditative portion were honest and authentic.
I appreciate the fact that the backdrops of your classes are real locations - love the beach locations! Please keep up the great work! :)
I wanted to let you know I have started your Yoga for Absolute Beginners program and I think very highly of it.
I was diagnosed with functioning scoliosis by a chiropractor and he strongly recommended I do yoga, but yoga studios where I live are expensive and I don't make much money with my 2 jobs. These exercises have helped ease the pain that comes along with scoliosis and a high hip, plus having a neck with no curve.
Your website and its offerings are doing great things and I would gladly donate more for content as I complete the beginner's program.

I took an interest in yoga after injuring myself during a weightlifting session in preparation for a role in an independent film last year. Since I'm only 20 years old, the injury was very worrying for me, but yoga fixed me up completely.
Now I've taken up bodybuilding and I practice yoga every day; they complement each other brilliantly, and the videos on this site have helped me cut many hours out of the time it takes me to heal from a gym session.

I am so jazzed about this site. I have practiced yoga, but I am sure I need a lot of assistance in regards to correct posture, correct way to complete each asana and even my breathing technique.
Unfortunately I don't have a lot of money and yoga is a bit expensive (for me, right now it is). I think the average cost is $18 per class and I honestly haven't even ventured into private classes. Because your videos are free, I was able to discover yoga for me. It allows me to fit in a practice whenever I can and feel like it, at home, with no pressures at all. Not just the "normal" ones of having to fit my schedule around a fixed class time and get there in time, but also of having other people in the room that can bend more, or hold a pose longer, or whatnot; or feeling that I have to get through a class that I realise, half-way in, that it's too much or the wrong thing for me today. And also the slightly more off-notice ones like "I have paid for access/this class, so I have to get the most out of it" stuff.
I just love being able to stop when I've had enough, with no pressure and no judgement, and I very much appreciate that all DYWM teachers stress that it's a good thing to stop, or to modify, or to take a break when it's necessary, and only go as far as is good for oneself. (I hope this all makes sense to you!)
At about the beginning of March, I was looking for some short exercise videos for my very tense shoulders and neck, I stumbled across the first free yoga class (on another site), and I gave it a try. Shortly after, I discovered your page, and since then I have found myself doing some yoga almost every day - including when I was travelling. I've had a look at quite a lot of the other free yoga class videos on the 'net as well, but the ones at DYWM are, from their style, setting, teachers, and atmosphere, by far the ones I like best.
Which means if I have helped you running DYWM with that donation, I consider it money extremely well spent. After all, I'm hoping for even more videos to enjoy in the future!
I found you guys because of Reddit and I'm completely floored your videos are free. I've been doing Melissa's Bend and Stretch as well as her Twist and Stretch videos for the last few weeks.
I, through shear stupidity, injured my lower back and upper right shoulder a few years back. I've tried a number of things to remedy the problems and get some pain relief including working with a chiropractor. Nothing I've done thus far has given me the relief, relaxation and peace that I've gained from just these two videos alone.
