Hi Erica,

I found the hands, wrists and forearm segment really helped to loosen up those areas. The hip segment with the chair I found awkward so did my own versions of lunges and pigeon poses on the mat instead.

Maybe this is a preference, but I'd recommend reshooting the segments but use the mirrored left-right instructions as I found it hard to watch your set-up in the poses while listening to the left-right instructions that were opposite!

Next time I'm going to try your shorter videos that focus on specific body parts - it's great to have the options to increase mobility and reduce joint stiffness. Thanks!

Hi VirginiaR,
Thank you for your feedback - it is very helpful!
I love that you used your mat when the chair was too much. I always point out to my classes that an advanced student is the one who knows when and how to change the pose to suit where she is at and can gain from the movement, rather than add tension when trying to fit someone else's practice or suggestions.

And, yes, mirroring is very useful. Sometimes I get so mixed up doing it, but that's part of my practice as a teacher.

Thanks again for your comments, and I hope you continue to get some mobility in your body!

Wow - champagne bubbles!
That might be the best feedback I have had on a class! Glad to hear you had such a immediate, positive body experience from the class. Keep practicing!

dear Erica,
that's not all, I start to feel much more flexibility in my hands an feet, in a way making them feel more alive, and that after doing this lesson only two times!
I'll be back :-)

This video has helped me a great deal. I have had pain from injuries for years from my neck to my shoulders to wrist, hip, knee & ankle from many years of dance training, tennis & car accidents. I didn't take very good care of these injuries throughout the years & it's has been aggravated from various daily activities. This video has helped greatly. I'm grateful I found this video. It has really helped the pain I have dealt with for a long time. After doing this routine, I has allowed me to move more freely, preparing me for more challenging routines. Thank you so much for this wonderful video.

Ah, c2t, those words and sentiments are music to my ears! I'm so glad you found relief from your pain through these exercises. It's amazing what we can 'put up with' before we start listening to what your body is asking for! I'm so glad you found this.

So much gratitude for your sharing, and keep on practicing,
Erica

I felt that this would be a good practice for older individuals as there are many props used although even if you are older you would still need to be nimble enough to get into and out of some of the poses. I am an intermediate/beginner practitioner and simply did not get much out of this practice. I won't be doing it again but it might be the right practice for someone else.

THanks for your honesty! I agree that no practice is for everyone, so I'm glad you recognized that right away. I hope you found something that works for you where you are at. And I agree, you do have to pretty nimble for some of these. Props do not always mean 'easier' - part of my mission as a teacher is to bring that knowledge to people and to use props as a tool in new, interesting ways.

Thanks for trying, and keep practicing, whatever yoga you find!
