This yoga class for 55+ is perfect for beginners or anyone who feels they need a gentle yoga class. It's a step up from her class Yoga for 55+: Return to Practice, and it begins with Satiya slowing you down, breathing, meditating and letting go of the day. She makes her way toward gentle, modified sun salutations, followed by a hatha yoga flow that includes balancing poses, and openers for the spine, hips, legs, shoulders and groin. It may feel a little more challenging than the average Yoga for Seniors class, but it will likely be accessible to most who are in this age range. Satiya's pace and clear direction make this class easy to follow and a joy to participate in. Note: Satiya sits on a bolster to begin the class. You can use the same, a firm pillow or folded blanket.

Beautiful class, beautiful teacher. I am 56 and returning to yoga following a year off with a rotator cuff injury. I've done a beginner challenge and now feel ready to challenge myself more, but know I am prone to injury so moving cautiously. This class was perfect: challenging yet gentle!

Tomorrow I turn 60! I've been mostly neglecting my yoga time over the past year and this is the last day of vacation so I decided it should be the first day of a renewed commitment to yoga. Satiya was the perfect re-start. I love this soothing and encouraging voice. What a peaceful nature!
After 30+ years of doing yoga this is probably the most important time to really be focussed on health, balance, and flexibility. Thank you so much for making this a beautiful transition back to the mat and into this next decade.
