Yin Yoga: Sinking Into Stillness
Join Anastasia for this hour-long class that spends five delicious minutes with every pose. Breathe deeply, relax your body and take the time to sink into the opening within each asana. It will calm you down immensely and leave you feeling grounded and centered in your body. If you haven't done yin before, you will be holding each pose in this class for five minutes. Many of you have asked about the poem I read at the end. Here is it:
My beloved child,
break your heart no longer.
Each time you judge yourself
you break your own heart.
You stop feeding on the love,
which is the wellspring of your vitality.
The time has come, your time
To live to celebrate...
and to see the goodness that you are…
Let no one, no thing, no idea or ideal obstruct you
If one comes, even in the name of “Truth”,
forgive it for its unknowing
Do not fight
Let go
And breathe – into the goodness that you are.
~ Bapuji
Hi Anastasia, just a quick question. What is the name of the poem and poet that you read at the end of the class? I love it and want to copy and reference it. The name sounded like Bapuci (???) but I know that is not how it is spelled. Also, since I was asking about names, what is the origin of your last name? It is quite unusual and I have never heard it before.
Thanks, Kris
Perfect. Great poses, your voice and instructions carried me through.
Thank you, this was a great session. I appreciated you showing what would be needed and the alternatives if these were not readily available. It was joyful to do this. As with some other videos it would be useful to have a closing to the practice, I lay in corpse pose for some time before I got up to check if it was and maybe that was the point, that I take as long as I needed without placing judgement over weather or not this is how long I should be doing it for.
