Why Do We Call This Anxiety?
Have you ever asked yourself why the word anxiety exists and what exactly it is? It may seem like a silly question, but who's to know that everyone living with anxiety is experiencing something similar? If that's a possibility, than does the label even help? If it does, how? Can the location where anxiety residing in your body shift? I felt my anxiety on my shoulders and neck for a long time. I worked on it physically and mentally, doing yoga, meditation, massage therapy, and lots of dairy writing. It is all gone away and my anxiety level dropped a lot. But I feel like this year I feel like it hits me in my guts.
David, thank you so much 🙏
This is the most useful video of yours that I've watched. The realization that I'm not anxiety, that the label is useful for communication with others but not for communication with myself, ... all of it was very helpful.
Thank you so much.
Keyword "my" anxiety....it's like once we realize what it is, we want to claim it and grasp it and hold on to it- when that is probably the most counterproductive for getting out of anxiety. I agree it's helpful to communicate to others if needed, but I definitely agree the label doesn't help if it becomes part of our identity.
I really liked the exercise in this video. It is very interesting to tune in and discover where the anxiety seems to reside in the body. I'm thinking, maybe some chakra work in the area holding the anxiety might help me :)
