Vinyasa Through the Vayus

Intermediate III
Prana or energy, moves through us in different ways. This invigorating class with Fiji will lead you through an exploration of the vayus, or winds of energy movement. Each of the five vayus will be explained and incorporated into this vinyasa style practice.

yes! a great flow. Thank you Fiji....during the class you mentioned ( while we were doing a prep for handstand) , that the handstand would happen next time. Is there a class that follows this incorporating that handstand?? thanks

LOVED this flow Fiji! It was beautiful and challenging. You inspire my practice and my teaching

One thing to note - the video playback tonight restarted itself at about the 6 minute mark. By that I mean, the video started playing for the opening gong but it did not rewind; it was still at the 6 minute. I could fast forward to the spot I was at and then it happened again during savasana. It was as though the original recording was "taped" over with the same flow. Just thought you might like to know:).

I have no idea what took me so long to do this class, but it concerns me. This is really exceptional. Guided me to yet another new state of awareness. Can't wait to be back. You are an incredible conduit, Fiji! <3

I follow Fiji’s practice with my eyes closed. It is always a beautiful moving meditation, and I love her choice of words and spiritual guidance. 😌

Hi,
Great class as always... but it seems that it's not correctly labeled as I can't find it if I put a Intermediate III filter. I have to check all of Fiji's videos to find it.
It would be a pity that people miss it for such a reason.
Thank you DYWM for your work and dedication!
Best,
A.

Hi Fiji, thank you very much for this interesting class, as always! I have been wondering....how come I can`t do a teddy bear headstand, and I can do a "normal" one? You seem to be showing teddy bear headstand as a progression to the other one...or am I confusing? Is there a way I can gain confidence for the teddy bear? I am especially concerned by the neck. I seem not to believe that my arms will support the neck sufficiently... :)
Thank you for your thoughts!
Love,
Karolina

Hi Karolina!

Well I am hoping to show you how to do this in person one day soon, once I can get to Europe again! For now, you could build confidence by trying it against a wall. Press your hands firmly into the floor, hug the elbows in, and slide your shoulders up towards the hips which engages the shoulders. This will make the upperbody work to take the pressure off the head and neck.

Dear Fiji, Thank you for this wonderful class. It is so good after a long day, working from home. It resets and stretches everything. And the exploration of the vajus give such nice cues and reflections. Lovely :)

Is this part of a series? She says something like "you'll be ready for the handstand next week"?

This was a FANTASTIC class. I didn't feel rushed through any of the poses even though it was only a 35 minute class. Thank you, Fiji!

I did not think I would be up for a new challenging Fiji class in the early morning before work ( and after a poor night of sleep), but this was fantastic!! I feel ready to start my day with more energy than anticipated. New favorite class!

Really wonderful class, thank you.
Are there any books/resources you would be willing to recommend for those wanting to learn the yogic energetic systems (that can't afford teacher training)?

Ah-mazing!! My new favorite class. I learned so much and even had fun. You are such a thoughtful teacher Fiji, a true gift you have and a true gift you are. My question is this: if I can only reach my upper shins in revolved downward dog (sorry if this is not the correct name), should I shorten my stance even further - almost becoming upright - or settle for my shins for now? Thanks in advance. :)

This is another beautiful class by Fiji. But it felt noch right for me since I have quite a hollow back. For this reason, I don't do upward dog or other backbends. I would be grateful if you could offer a class designed for people with that problem. Thank you for all the wonderful classes you already gave to us. Love, m.

It sounds like you maaay have an anterior pelvic tilt (APT). There are many resources available online for identifying & correcting it, if that is indeed the case.
Namaste :-)

yes, I do think APT is what I have. I just didn't know the correct english term for it. Thank you for pointing it out to me, I really should see a psysiotherapist and work on correcting it.

Is it over already? I love this class. Thanks for the tips of pressing ankles down during cow and pressing toes down during cat, that is very helpful. Fiji has a laid back approach and voice but still manages to have very fun and sometimes challenging poses. Thanks for this new class, I'm loving it.
