Refine and Align: Side Plank
In this targeted vinyasa flow sequence, Andrea guides you to power up your shoulder girdle, wrists, hands and core to build a more functional and sustainable side plank (vasithasana).
This can either be done as a stand-alone class or as Day 7 of the Daily Dose 30-Day Intermediate Yoga Challenge.

Great energy and looove breaking poses down! Was a bit disappointed that we didn't do a straightforward side plank, though. It was a great workout, but I felt like I was missing yoga philosophy behind the physical work. I think frequent countdowns do that for me because they remind me of western workout styles ... but that may just be a personal thing.
Thank you Andrea! I made a mental note to do more of your classes after really enjoying them in the Inner Teacher challenge. This one is great, too. Nice pacing and I enjoy the change from my usual fast-paced vinyasa classes. I really hurt my shoulder in side plank around 18 months ago (attempted one while still recovering from a broken collarbone on the same side was a really, really bad move!) so I still feel vaguely anxious in the pose and its variations but this felt comfortable, I'll be coming back to it!
I love Andrea's classes. I didn't have as much time as I'd like to have this morning, but Andrea always makes it challenging (with lots of options). Thank you for this wonderful class and all the positivity that you radiate, Andrea. One request for future classes is to provide more options for those of us who struggle with flexibilty. My hands can't go under my feet without bending my knees a lot.
This class was quite challenging yet felt gentle and patient. Due to an old injury, my left wrist has a hard time sustaining me in side plank. The exercises and directions on how to place my arm and hand helped with this tremendously. I also liked being given options throughout. Thank you Andrea. I look forward to more of your classes.
