In this intermediate hatha class with Helen, we explore the possibility that yoga can support us in quieting our inner critic, especially when we move through poses that require our full focus. Through twists, backbends and balances, you are invited to remind yourself of all that you are, while releasing that voice that tries to tell you otherwise.

I have loved your classes through pregnancy (with lots of modifications) and postpartum, as my body and balance keep changing. Your cueing, modifications, and encouragement are wonderful.
And your comment of don't worry, it's a video, you can finish or start again later, was wonderful in this moment of worrying whether my baby was going to wake up and interrupt the practice!
I’m in my 50’s & been doing yoga for years. But I’m coping with rheumatoid arthritis, and Helen your wonderful energy & mindset is a beautiful reminder to meet my body where it is today. Sometimes I get stressed trying to keep up with other teachers, your modifications and positivity are much appreciated!
Great class to help with my negative self-talk. I love how Helen comes along side us as a fellow learner instead of as an expert to novices. Her adaptations gave me confidence to try some of the more challenging balances.
Love your easy going style, lightens my mood every time. Thank you!
Wonderfully balanced class for body and mind! Did it in a cold room and got warm enough to remove my sweater. The occasional reminder to let go of my "garbage talk" is what I need - always!
I didn't need the blocks and bolster - use them if they are a part of your practice.
I'm coming back to yoga after a pause of several months and your videos are particularly good to work through the lost progress in a constructive, non-judgemental way. Thank you.
Thank you Helen! I really needed your class today and I am so grateful for you and your teaching. Have a beautiful day!
I loved this gentle, kind class - just what I needed this evening after too much mental chatter. Thank you!
Thank you for a gorgeous practice.
Such a fun and loving class. I'll start using the word humbling instead of difficult. Thank you Helen!
Best dancer inspiration ever! Also - glad to shake off some of that trash talk. Great class. Thank you.
Great class . Thank you Helen for also acknowledging that some of us have body parts that need moving out of the way sometimes.
I love this class SO much!
What a beautiful and affirming practice! I especially loved the hands to heart break about midway through. So often even in yoga there's the push to keep going when what is needed is an act of self-love. Thank you, Helen.
Loved this class!!
I loved this class! Exactly what I needed for a stressful week dealing with people who I don’t feel my best and most confident self around
Excellent class. I love how it's challenging but accessible. As someone with arthritis, I move a bit slower but I still want to do challenging classes. A lot of the other intermediate classes are way too fast but this was is just the right pace.
I like how this class is sectioned.
Great class! Just the right amount of challenge - both physically and mentally!
Wonderful. Restorative. Thank you
Helen is becoming one of my very favorite teachers. Thank you for another beautiful practice.
Great practice. Love how it made me feel relaxed and calm. Thank you
Thank you 💚
This is a lovely class. I really appreciate your message, guidance, and being a humble warrior with us.
Loved this class. Enjoyed it all! Thank you Helen
Thank you so much. This practice helped me quiet my mind and feel strong in my body. I’ll be doing it again many times. ❤️
Very nice Helen. I appreciate your reminder to use props, and blocks. I also like the inclusiveness of your class. In my opinion, many teachers normalize where they are at in their own practice, not recognizing that students are not always as "advanced", for lack of a better word. Even when I can quickly find the pose I appreciate extra time to fine tune it and I really like how you cue for every body. Since this was mentioned in another review, I also want to let others know that anything that is considered " plus-sized" yoga is definitely meant for people of all shapes and sizes and should not deter you from trying it. I found this class great as a rather fit, slim woman in my 50's who has been practicing for years. I think it would also be a good class specifically for teens.
I would agree memarcy. I am 60 now and relatively fit for my age and doing yoga for 8 years but this class of Helen’s is for everyone. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I love the fluttering too. It reminds us to being some fun into our practice. I will do more of Helen’s classes.
Very good class. I was a little hesitant to try it because I am not plus size and didn't know if it would work for me. But it was great and all the wording was exactly what I needed to hear today. I recommend this to anyone. Thank you Helen
This class was just what I needed today. I almost didn’t do it because I am a beginner, and I’m so glad I went ahead. Some of it was a challenge but all the modifications were awesome and it seemed accessible because of Helen’s teaching. Thanks so much
It was a good practice to do after a hiatus of several weeks. It certainly boosts the confidence.
"I'm the best yogi that ever lived; I've never done yoga in my life" - I laughed out loud, Helen, and it made for an exceptional practice :) I love how real you are.
Thank you Helen, I have been waiting for a new practice from you and as usual, this was beautiful, a balm for body and mind. I look forward to coming back to this regularly <3
A perfect class, thank you Helen
So much to love with this class…(the teacher, the practice, and the practitioner!)
I LOVE Helen’s classes so much. Her “realisms”, as I call them, are on point. I enjoyed this practice!
Love the cues - chuck that garbage voice!
