Hatha Yoga for Self Care II

Beginner I

This gentle hatha yoga class is perfect for any time of the day. It's a lovely way to prepare for a good night's sleep, to get you out of bed to start your day or to provide a much needed break in the middle of the day. Melissa's clear and concise guidance allow you to absorb her soothing words of reassurance and strength. Do this class on its own or in conjunction with Melissa's Hatha Yoga For Self Care I.

I love the messages Melissa talks about in this class. Self-care is so important, and many of us women neglect ourselves too often. The nice, relaxing beginning of the class and the long shavasana were fantastic!

I loved this lesson. Thank you Melissa. Exactly the right pace - very relaxing and yet one has a good stretch at the same time. That is what I like about your lessons - I feel like i relax due to the steady slowish pace and your voice but I also feel like I have given my body a bit of stretching. I especially enjoyed taking a full breath between poses.

I have a cold and am feeling a bit weak, plus have been overwhelmed by work, so this was JWIN. Even though during the second half of the practice, one of my cats found a mouse and was chasing it around near my yoga mat. EEK!! Broke the magic spell a little bit, but I still stayed present in the practice, haha. I guess that is a testament to just how good Melissa and this practice is. :)

Excellent class!!!.. so much tension relieved and it is easy to follow, slow pace...
It would be better if the voice were slightly louder than the ocean sound. It is difficult sometimes to hear the instructions.

Any time I have a headache, or a cold, this is the class that I do. It helps me feel relaxed, and my headache usually goes away during the practice. My dog has decided that she enjoys this class too, because she gets a head message during Savasana. Thank you so much for the sound of waves, and the chance to do yoga in the privacy of my home with my dog.

Thank you - this was great and perfect for a complete beginner. However I have a problem

I repeatedly get little spasms particularly in my back muscles and the little muscles around the back of the ribs. They aren't during any particular exercise/position - just suddenly get a spasm mid exercise for no apparent reason. For example, even lying down doing the breathing relaxation at the end, i had a sudden cramp.

It's not any damage or anything, just general unfitness I think.

However my question is this - should I stay on this day and repeat it a few times until my muscles get a bit more used to it? Or carry on working through the videos and it will all settle down as I work through them?

Melissa is the best. So relaxing - and all the movements felt great. My favorite day thus far in the 30-day challenge. As someone who has to use a cushion any time I am on my knees, I am impressed she did all of this on those rocks, lol.

I did both offerings today! This morning with Fiji and evening with Melissa ,,, they are all so good.... I don't want to miss any , and hopefully will continue throughout the 30 day challenge as long as time will allow me. In gratitude to David and all the teachers for this gift of yoga.

Today's session was more difficult for me as I suffered a shoulder injury years back that hasn't fully recovered. Some of these poses pushed me almost to the point of being uncomfortable, but ultimately it felt like a great release and step in the direction of healing. Thank you for the lesson on self-care!
