Rachel is an expert at sequencing. In this intermediate hatha flow yoga class, she creatively prepares you for the challenging peak pose side crow (parsva bakasana). By the time you get there, your confidence and your body are more than ready to take the weight into your arms.

I love this practice. Some of it is still beyond my capabilities, but it sure is fun to try.
Rachel is new to me and I loved her teaching. Side crow was not “available “ to me so I worked on perfecting regular crow. I very much enjoyed this class.
Thank you for a great practice!
Rachel's instructions are clear and concise, but always a bit playful as well. Plenty for me to improve on in this one, but that's why they call it practice!
What a lovely slightly challenging practice from Rachel this morning! The arm balances aren't quite in my reach at this point, but I know what I'm striving for now! Namaste
Great shoulder opener. Helpful to wash away the stress. Thank you!
great class although I'm still struggling to balance on my arms!
Wonderful, clear instructions. A joy to do.
Well, I did better at Crow.
Side Crow? oh heck no
I will have to try this class a few more times. I love Rachel's leadership and voice and, when she surprised me into flight after Eagle, I flew. This is a fun class!
I did it, crow pose, for the briefest moment!! Small gains, yahoo! Thank you Rachel for the great instruction into the peak pose! Namaste!
I’ll be back! Rachel thank you for an amazing practice. The practice leading up to the peak pose prepares you and is very invigorating! Couldn’t quite get in the peak, but will be back to attempt again.
Really enjoyed this practice. Challenging peak pose but her instruction into the poses made everything very accessible
Side crow is a long way off for this body (if ever), but I did enjoy working as much as a I could in the pose and I especially love the thoughtful preparation Rachel gave to get the body ready for the pose.

Lydia, glad to hear that you enjoyed the sequence ;)
phew! who knew I could sweat this much in 20 minutes!
A great warm up through the side body and some balances before moving into the peak pose, which Rachel gives clear and well paced instructions for - sometimes I find getting into hand balances may feel a little rushed but this class was really well timed. Thank you Rachel!
Jenny, you are so welcome! So glad that you enjoyed it!
This is one of the hardest one's for me yet. I had a really hard time with Side crow - I am not strong enough yet to do some of the complex moves, but I will work every day to get stronger. Good solid class - Thanks
Chris

It's been so long since I've done a class with Rachel I forgot how great I feel after a practice with her. I especially love the quick pace in this class, and of course side crow is one of my favorite poses! Wonderful class. Thank you ^_^
Awwww, thanks :) Happy to practice with you!
Nice little workshop on side crow. I'll definitely be trying this again :) maybe next time I'll get there!
I'd forgotten how good this short practice is!
Definitely going to do this one again - almost there on there on the side crow , the clear instructions really helped

transitions were a bit fast for me. perhaps on second pass, I'll do better. I feel alive and awake
I appreciated the different variations of crow - the one arm supported one asked a lot of me! I loved the comparison at the beginning between an opened side of ribs and a yet to be opened!
Wow I have been trying to master that pose for a long time and with Rachels guided help I managed to ease into it with no trouble at all feeling completely secure, thanks Rachel !
Welcome Katie!
Happy to hear it worked for you :) high fives!
Excellent! and challenging! thank you
Thank you
I have a ways to go before I will be able to achieve the full balanced positions, but it gives me something to strive towards. As others have said, I so appreciate the pace and the approach in guiding through practice. Thanks for your obvious investment into providing a great practice for others.
3/13/18 Fluff-Free instructions and excellent cues to get into side crow - good sequence of posture leading up to it to gently open the body. Great little practice! Thanks, Rachel!
Some very good directions for aligning the poses, thank you! I have never shifted my self forward before coming down from the plank pose so this was a discovery. I also prefer when the teacher concentrates on giving directions for the poses and the breath only. I very often forget to breath, I wouldn't mind if you talked a bit during savasana though :) just because my mind drifts off and I forget to scan my body. I will look up more of your videos. Thank you!
Wonderful practice, Rachel, thank you so much! I have to tell you that one thing I appreciate the most is your lack of incessant chatter!! I know any instructor must and should give good directions through out a practice about correct positioning - I'm not talking about that. I have in mind the times in quiet positions to catch our breath or preparing or ending our practice where the instructor continues to go on and on about finding inner peace...inner light...whatever it may be....which is extremely hard to do because they keep chattering about doing it!! Thank you for your great classes!!
Hallo!
I'm so happy that you enjoyed the practice :)
Life is busy, and I also relish those quiet moments to pause and feel!!!
xo
Beautiful practice, thank you! Today was my first time trying side crow and am overjoyed that, with your guidance, I was able to experience growth and success. Namaste!
I'm so happy to hear that the practice felt good to you!
Happy you're here :)
I enjoy doing this flow the morning. Although I cannot do the side crow, the rest is perfect for a short sequence before starting the day. Thanks Rachel :)
Hallo, thanks for sharing, I'm glad that this little flow makes for a good AM routine :)

One of my favorite routines on DoYogaWithMe. I often use this when I don't have much time but want to stretch out and get a workout quickly. Works all the right area! I can only hope that one day she will add a class with the tortoise as the peak pose as that pose is also an edge for me.
That's a hard pose :)! So glad that you enjoyed this flow, Brian, thanks for sharing!!
I've been looking for ways to practice side crow safely, as I've only recently started attempting it. I love this video- got a great stretch in and also felt ready/warmed up for side crow at the end.
Thanks for the chance to practise hatha yoga at home! Greetings from Greece!
Although I can't get into side crow YET. This is the perfect class for a mom of two who is crunched for time. This class offers a warm hatha flow that is perfect for an end of the day workout.
Will be doing this class again!!
