Up, Down and All Around

Intermediate III

The title is no exaggeration. Crista has a reputation for creative - sometime crazy - transitions in her fun and challenging vinyasa flow classes, and this is one of her best. She also is very good at clarity, which is crucial in a class like this one. Get ready to flow, twist, bind, backbend, side bend, stretch deeply, do inversions, work your body, smile and then rest.

This is a phenomenal class!
Its physically challenging and Crista gets straight to work, yet still it left me feeling peaceful and cheerful. I'm doing this as part of the 21 day get strong challenge, but will definitely add to my favourites,
Thank you Crista.

I had lots of fun in this practice with its creative transitions. The hand stand is something I may not ever be ready for, so I practiced my crow pose instead. I love how this instructor breaths deeply reminding students to do the same. Also she made me laugh at myself.

I do love this class, but I don't like that it starts with some pretty deep poses without any warming up.

Wow, this class is truly transcendent and a master class in vinyasa transitions. Don’t be deterred by the length of time - this class flies by. I feel rejuvenated and restored. Classic Crista - a beautiful class.

I think you just saved my soul or something. Genuinely thank you. I played my guitar alongside your singing and wept profusely. I was able to write the words “ I love you “ about myself for the first time in recollection. I knew this was the power of yoga.
I almost forgot I did the headstand for the first time too!

I much appreciate Crista's positivity, humor and encouragement to always meet your body and respect your body for where it is at. I also like when postures are repeated 3 times through a flow so you can strengthen and try to improve. While challenging, very restorative by the end. She sang a mantra at the end that I have never heard done so beautifully. Longer class but it flew by after the most challenging first 30 minutes.

This was fun. Got to keep your eyes open as you will miss something.

I need new roller skates.....

I would suggest like others here that a 5 minute warm up might help before you start the video.

This class has such creative and fun transitions. I had quite a few 'Wow, that's cool, how did I end up here?' moments. Love those roller skating poses! Definitely walked straighter and with more awareness of a renewed strength after this class. Thank you Crista :)

Oh my gosh! What an incredible class! It’s a long class-but well worth my time! So many fun poses-and poses that I have never even done before. I loved all of the ending poses as well as the long savasava at the end. And I absolutely loved Krista’s ending mantra! Thank you so much for leaving me feeling rejuvenated ! You are an angel!

I want to give the moderator a heads up that the time in the description is incorrect. It says about an hour, but it's closer to an hour and fifteen minutes. Terrific class, but you may want to correct the description. Cheers!

I found this practice very challenging, and rewarding. I honestly found it to be much more of an advanced practice as many of the elements take a thorough experience with the fundamentals of alignment so that and injury does not occur. As always, Crista really pacing her classes with exceptional clarity. Namaste from Ireland.

Wow Crista, you made my day! Thank you for this beautiful class! I feel 50 years younger even though I am only 33. I have several painful ganglions in my wrists and the doctors keep telling me not to practice yoga, but every time I do it, I am painfree... So I will continue! Thank you very much

Hey, I to have the occasional ganglion cyst! SO painful, couldn't put any weight on my hand, or bend my wrists or anything, I was doing yoga one armed ha ha. It was nestled in between two little wrist bones and wasn't very raised, so I couldn't do the old bible trick and my physio had a month long waiting list! I ended up getting so frustrated that I just placed my thumb firmly on it one evening and pressed with increasing pressure until it completely shrunk away to nothing. I can't say it was painful and I gained wrist mobility again immediately! It hasn't come back either! Just thought I would share my story, maybe yours will have an easy fix like mine! Namaste :-)

Thank you Crista for this creative, opening, warm, and challenging practice. I am 44 and it made me feel like a kid again, and also centered and focused my mind. The relaxation was the perfect length and your voice singing that song literally brought me to tears. I would love to sing that to my children at night. Can you please tell me where to find it as well as the translation? I will be doing more of your classes! Peace to you.

I avoided this class for two days because I was daunted by the description of it. I didn't think I would be able to do the poses or have the patience to do such a long class. I finally buckled down and completed it today and I'M SO GLAD I DID! Crista's teaching style and motivations really helped me stay positive and push through the more difficult poses. I feel great right now and confident that I can finish this 30-day challenge strong. Thank you for the wonderful class, Crista. I will definitely revisit this video :)

I have practiced with many of your videos and this one was extremely challenging. I find your flow liberating, your energy inspiring and your smile contagious. The Canadian in me giggles with each "please" as we transition poses. I am newer to yoga, practicing seriously for only a few months but have been wanting to start for a long time. I love this site and often turn to your classes. I find yoga worshipful - community, prayer, meditation, inspiration and to add song was a beautiful beginning to meditation for me today.
