Fiji's class that she dedicates to the Vishuddha chakra, or the throat chakra, is a moderate intermediate class with an accessible flow for most intermediate students. You'll feel your body getting charged with a power yoga class that stretches the body in a variety of ways, then Fiji cools you down with inversions (shoulder stand and plough), followed by fish pose, a lovely chant and savasana. The fifth chakra is associated with the color blue and the element is akasha (ether).

Woke up with a sore throat (the weather is getting colder) and feeling stiff from poor night of sleep. I did this as a standalone class and it was the perfect start to my day. It got the juices flowing and I’m already feeling so much better.

I loved this class! I came upon it because of the Get Strong! Whole Body challenge but I will definitely go back and do the full series. Slow-paced but challenging, especially if you are in the full expression of each pose. I had never done fish pose this way before and I did feel a sense of release from my throat chakra afterwards. Great practice for letting go of any swallowed or suppressed words. I only wish it had been longer!

This was a nice gentle class. It did feel more like a lesson than a yoga class. Though it is not my personal preference, I did still enjoy the message. I would have appreciated some additional coaching to get into fish pose. I found it difficult to keep my arms straight and the crown of my head felt like it was an in awkward position. Maybe there is a class that specifically helps with achieving that pose. This is an intermediate class and I don't believe the goal is to do this. Overall a very calming, gentle class and I still took something away from it. Thank you from the States :)
